Auburn’s passing game was much better last week thanks to a better performance by Peyton Thorne and a revamped receiver room keyed by Cam Coleman, KeAndrew Lambert-Smith and others.

The Tigers will look to run the ball behind star Jarquez Hunter, too. Auburn allowed just three points to Alabama A&M as a lot of guys played and contributed.

Cal’s offense gained just 281 yards in a win over UC Davis as running back Jayden Odd had an off day and Fernando Mendoza threw for 158 yards.

The Cal defense allowed 304 yards to UC Davis and had three interceptions.

The Bears hope to have an improved defense led by linebacker Cade Uluave and safety Craig Woodson, and UC Davis transfer Teddy Buchanan led the Golden Bears with nine tackles last week.
