Second Bananas

The Banana Boyz are joined by Film Producer & Buffy the Vampire Slayer superfan Sandeep Hundal to talk about Sarah Michelle Gellar & her contribution to the character of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

This episode was recorded before Charisma Carpenter & many other film industry professionals came forward with stories of Joss Whedon's abusive behavior on multiple shows. We believe & stand with all of them.

It's exactly what it says in the title. No more, no less.

Joe, Wes & Craig talk Ugliness as a a Second Banana to Beauty. This episode wanders through a bunch of different topics all connected to Ugliness & the insecurity surrounding it.

This episode was inspired by an article from Wear Your Voice Magazine:

Leaning Into Ugliness and Insecurity as an Essential Politic by Da'Shaun Harris

In an Alternate Universe, a very different kind of podcast exists... a podcast about Ultra. Top. Dogs.

PODCAST HOST - Joe Stilwell

Next Week - Another Full Episode!

Craig brings something slightly different to Joe & Wes for this episode: The relationship between Journalism and its rich & charismatic Daddy, Public Relations.

It's a wild ride for the Banana Boys as they learn the origin of PR, how it got its greasy mitts on Journalism and broke it into a million pieces. We also tell you how you can protect your brainwaves from both Russia Today and Rachel Maddow. (Spoilers: you can't, give up & give in)

Chuck Berry once said that his entire career was “one long Sister Rosetta Tharpe impersonation.” Elvis Presley blatantly copied her dance moves & style. She gave Little Richard his first-ever gig & shared the stage with him. She was a black queer woman who wasn't allowed to patronize the very concert halls she regularly sold out. Despite this, she was nearly forgotten by the mainstream rock press until recently, and finally inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Songs In Episode:

Song 1 - “Rock Me”

Song 2 - “Lucille” (BB King)

Song 3 - “Strange Things Happening Every Day”

The Banana Boys are back with their first full episode recorded since the pandemic! They are, of course, still recording remotely & the sound quality is still a little rough in places, but Second Bananas is BACK baby!

Jean Wells was the first woman to solely author a D&D Module. That module, "The Palace of the Silver Priness" never made it to print, because apparently it was just too horny! As The Banana Boys excavate the history of D&D's "Raciest Module", it becomes apparent that every D&D Module is secretly horny in its own way, and Jean was just the wrong girl in the wrong place at the wrong time.
