Deathember continues on Second Print Comics! There once was a time when the death of major characters still mattered in comic books - and even more so in the case of DC Comics of the late '80's when The Flash, Supergirl and Jason Todd's Robin all died - and stayed dead (at least for the time being...). In 1992, amid slagging sales and a delayed wedding storyline, DC editorial decided to do the unthinkable - and kill Superman. Marc and Remso take a look at this storyline that spanned every Superman comic book and brought scores of new fans into DC comics - including a young Marc Clair.

In 2006, Marvel killed Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, right as Remso began seriously reading comics. The “Fallen Son” limited series chronicled some of Captain America’s closest friends, and how they mourned his death in the wake of Marvel’s Civil War. This series wasn’t just a good story, it also taught Remso how to mourn those he loved when one of his closest friends died unexpectedly years later. Grab a tissue box true believers, Remso and Marc breakdown “Fallen Son: the Death of Captain America.”

In this week's Second Print Comics adventure, Marc and Remso take a look at young Remso's first introduction to the X-Men - Mark Millar's Ultimate X-Men! This revamp was meant to pull in fans of the X-Men movies without intimidating them with decades of backstory to catch up on, and also happened to one of the first series a young Remso Martinez first got into as a comics fan. But was this ultimate revamp necessary? Does it stand the test of time? From Jean Grey's short hair to Wolverine's pony tail, Marc and Remso break down the cosmetic differences and beyond between the Ultimate and "regular" X-Men characters and storylines.

They look at the history of the rift between creators and corporate over control of their characters over the years, from Jerry Siegel and Joel Schuster with Superman to Jack Kirby with X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc. to the Image founders of the '90's. Was the Image Revolution a success? How can we rate this act of revolutionary defiance almost thirty years later? Marc and Remso break it all down for the Second Print whippersnappin' fans!
