All-Star Superman" by Grant Morrison is a ride through the Superman mythos. Our Man of Steel learns he's overdone it on solar radiation (typical Superman problem), which boosts his powers but also means he's on a clock.

So, what does a super-powered alien do with his last days? Everything from arm-wrestling Samson (yes, the biblical strongman) to attending his own funeral (awkward). He also takes Lois Lane on a birthday date to the Fortress of Solitude, where he gives her superpowers for 24 hours. Because nothing says 'romantic gesture' like letting your date experience your existential crisis firsthand.

The story doesn't just stop at earth-shattering revelations; it also delves into Superman's 'super' daily problems. Like, how does one react when a group of supermen from the future just pop by for a visit?

In "The Long Halloween," Batman finds himself in a year-long episode of "Gotham's Next Top Villain," where the competitors are an all-star rogue's gallery, each trying to outdo the other in holiday-themed shenanigans.

Ranging from a bloody Valentine's Day to a Labor Day nobody wants to labor on. Alongside a coin-flipping, mood-swinging Harvey Dent and a Commissioner Gordon who's just one day away from a caffeine overdose, Batman plays the world's grimmest game of holiday bingo.

Spoiler alert: instead of "Bingo!" the winning cry is a rather confused "Who's doing all this, and why didn't I get a holiday off?"

"Kraven's Last Hunt" is a Spider-Man story that's less about slinging webs and more about existential crises. Kraven the Hunter, a man who's really into fur coats and proving he's the best hunter ever. His ultimate prey? You guessed it: Spider-Man, the guy who can't seem to go a day without swinging into some supervillain's evil plan.

After declaring victory for delivering the fatal blowq to Spider-man, Kraven buries Spider-Man alive. Yes, literally. Kraven puts on the Spider-suit (which is a bit like seeing your dad trying to be hip by wearing skinny jeans).

Think of it as Spider-Man with a serious grumpiness problem. The story dives deep into themes like identity, the nature of heroism, and what happens when your nemesis decides to steal your job and your fashion sense. thwip!
