Story Transcript:

Ga: Saoirse is sa lár den choill thapa sa bhliain.
En: Saoirse was in the heart of the quick forest in the year.

Ga: Bhí an ghrian ag taitneamh trí chraobh na gcrann, ag cruthú scáthanna beag ar an talamh.
En: The sun was shining through the tree branches, creating small shadows on the ground.

Ga: Bhí Saoirse, múinteoir aimsire, ag tabhairt turas do ghrúpa cuairteoirí.
En: Saoirse, a weather teacher, was giving a tour to a group of visitors.

Ga: Bhí sí ag glacadh brí na háite ar chách.
En: She was absorbing the essence of the place for everyone.

Ga: Ach, sa grúpa bhí Cormac, fear óg a raibh imní air.
En: But, in the group was Cormac, a young man who was anxious.

Ga: Bhí a dheartháir óg, Aidan, imithe gan tásc gan tuairisc.
En: His younger brother, Aidan, had disappeared without a trace.

Ga: Bhí an turas ag teacht chun deiridh, ach ní raibh aon rian d'Aidan.
En: The tour was coming to an end, but there was no sign of Aidan.

Ga: “Cá bhféadfadh sé a bheith?” arsa Cormac, éadach lena imní.
En: “Where could he be?” said Cormac, distraught with worry.

Ga: “Caithfidh muid é a fháil,” d'fhreagair Saoirse go muiníneach.
En: “We must find him,” replied Saoirse confidently.

Ga: Bhí sí díochrach an fhadhb seo a réiteach, ní amháin do Chormac, ach chun a spéis i stair an tsuíomh a chruthú.
En: She was determined to solve this problem, not only for Cormac, but to demonstrate her interest in the site's history.

Ga: Chuamar thar an Abhainn Doiléir, trí na fothracha ársa go dtí an Foraois Tiarna.
En: We went past the Abhainn Doiléir (Dim River), through ancient ruins to the Foraois Tiarna (Lord's Forest).

Ga: Tá scéalta ann faoi chianta caillte agus cros bhealaigh rúnda.
En: There are stories there about lost ages and secret crossroads.

Ga: D'éirigh an cruthúnas den dísos ag dul níos faide sa dorcha.
En: The evidence of the duo going farther into the dark grew.

Ga: Tháinig an oíche, agus n'fheadar Saoirse ar chóir di leanúint.
En: Night fell, and Saoirse wondered if she should continue.

Ga: Ach tháinig áis oibre, eolas maith uirthi.
En: But resources, known to her, arrived.

Ga: “Má tá an ráfla fíor, beidh seomra faoi thalamh anseo.”
En: “If the rumor is true, there will be an underground room here.”

Ga: Bhí Cormac buartha, ach bhí creideamh aige i Saoirse.
En: Cormac was worried, but he had faith in Saoirse.

Ga: Chuaigh siad isteach sa choill domhain, áit a raibh doras a bhí clúdaithe le duilliúr tiubh.
En: They went into the deep forest, where a door was covered with thick foliage.

Ga: “Seo é!” arsa Saoirse go sceitimíneach.
En: “This is it!” said Saoirse excitedly.

Ga: Leon sí go gairid é, agus d'oscail bealach chuig an seomra faoi thalamh.
En: She uncovered it shortly, and a passage to the underground room opened.

Ga: Is beag é Kitty atá buile nó mearbhall air.
En: Little was Kitty confused or bewildered.

Ga: Bhreathnaigh sé timpeall, dearmadta ar an domhan os a chionn.
En: He looked around, forgetting the world above him.

Ga: “Fuair muid é!” arsa Cormac go faoiseamh.
En: “We found him!” said Cormac with relief.

Ga: “Buíochas le Dia!”
En: “Thank God!”

Ga: Le hAidan sábháilte, thóg Saoirse agus Cormac an cosán ar ais.
En: With Aidan safe, Saoirse and Cormac took the path back.

Ga: Bhí an seomra sin lán de stair nárbh'fhéidir cur síos air, agus d'fhág sé Saoirse lán d'fhionnachtain úr agus cinneadh a leanúint ar aghaidh ina taighde.
En: That room was full of indescribable history, and it left Saoirse full of fresh discoveries and a decision to continue her research.

Ga: Agus Cormac, as seo amach, meas níos fearr aige ar scéalta an tséansaoil.
En: And Cormac, from then on, had a greater appreciation for ancient tales.

Ga: D'fhág siad Glendalough ní amháin le cuimhní, ach freisin le muinín as a chéile.
En: They left Glendalough not only with memories, but also with confidence in each other.

Ga: Bhí an eachtra críochnaithe go rathúil, agus d'fhill siad grianthaithe abhaile sa scéal láimhe.
En: The adventure ended successfully, and they returned home sun-kissed in the story at hand.
