OVERCOMING MOM GUILT & RELEASING OUR ADULT CHILDREN
Do you ever wrestle with mom guilt or grapple to release control and responsibility for your adult children?
This week's podcast guest, award-winning author, inspirational speaker, and health coach Christine Trimpe, can relate, as she has been there herself!
Christine and I delve into overcoming mom guilt and releasing our adult children—parenting from our knees—and learning that joy and sorrow can coexist when a plot twist occurs, and their lives look much different than expected.
Christine recounts her son's traumatic brain injury and the legal battle she faced with an insurance company and the medical community.
And we discuss the biblical character Jochebed, the mother of Moses. It took tremendous courage for Jochebed to hide Moses from the Egyptians and great faith to release him to the Lord. She had faith that her son Moses was her people's promised deliverer.
Yet how was her mama's heart affected when Moses committed murder and fled into the wilderness? Did she despair or bear the guilt upon herself when his life looked much different than expected?
Christine likewise shares the three most impactful lessons she learned through the trials with her son:

Do you need encouragement in allowing others to help carry the weight of your struggles during life's tough challenges?
Or are the weight of other people's burdens crushing you? Today's podcast discusses how biblical burden-bearing honors God—by loving others well and allowing them to love and serve us. And how bearing one another's burdens does not mean taking the burden from someone and being crushed by the weight of it--but instead coming alongside them to give support.
We discuss Moses in Exodus 17, who grew weary in battle while holding up the staff of God. However, if he lowered his arms, the Israelites began to lose. So, Aaron and Hur helped bear the burden and put a rock under him so he could sit down—and then they helped hold up his arms for him.
I am likewise excited to introduce our special guest— award-winning author of Challenges Won’t Stop Me and the newly released—Keep Moving Forward, Melony Brown. Melony shares a snippet of her story about the significance of rest and accepting help from others during a health crisis—in the section on rest in my upcoming book, Securely Held: Finding Significance and Security in the Shelter of God's Embrace.
Don't miss Melony's inspiring story of overcoming a stroke and brain surgery with the help of others who helped carry the load of the physical and financial burden.

Have you ever worried that a mental health or spiritual struggle disqualified you from ministry? Today, we discuss mental health, ministry, and the spiritual battle—episode six of the podcast.
We look at the biblical character, Mary Magdalene, in Luke 8--who it says had seven demons cast out of her. Yet, she traveled with Jesus and the twelve apostles—proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God along with other women who provided for him out of their own means.
Our special guest, Tracy Arntzen, is an author, inspirational speaker, mental health advocate, and co-founder of Saving Susan Ministry.
Tracy shares her family's struggle to overcome the stigma of mental illness and the power of God to use their weakness to birth a ministry to orphans called Saving Susan.
Hearing Tracy and her family's journey will inspire and uplift you as she shares how they moved from misery and defeat to victorious ministry amidst mental health struggles and the spiritual warfare surrounding us all.

Do you long to overcome rejection and discover security in God's embrace?
We invite you to tune in to the latest Secure in God's Embrace podcast--as we discuss the nameless woman who overcame rejection and discovered security in God in Luke chapter seven. She crashed a dinner party and anointed Jesus’ feet with her tears and ointment and dried them with her hair--while the host made it clear she didn't have a seat at his table.
The pharisaical host saw only her sin--yet we see Jesus saw her as God's daughter--through her faith and repentance as she worshipped and served at His feet. Jesus says about her: Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. (Luke 7:47 ESV)Like the sinful woman--our special guest on this episode--Christina England found her place at the feet of Jesus, and so can YOU, beloved one! Christina shares a snippet of her story about striving for acceptance in the first section of my Christian Living book, Securely Held, on discovering our identity as God’s daughters.
Listen to Christina's inspiring story of triumphing over rejection and discovering her true calling! You will find support to discover rest from your own striving for validation and encouragement to rest in the security of God's embrace!

Have you ever felt unsafe in a relationship?
Today, we discuss finding Safety in God’s Embrace—Episode Four of the podcast.
We look at the biblical character, Abigail, in 1 Samuel 25—and learn that while she was discerning and beautiful, her husband Nabal was harsh and badly behaved.
Yet we see how God gave Abigail wisdom to navigate her difficult situation. And He will do the same for us, as we seek His face in our troubling circumstance.
I am likewise excited to introduce our special guest, Michelle Ruddell. Michelle shares a snippet of her harrowing journey of finding freedom from an abusive marriage--in my book, which launches in early November of 2023, titled, Securely Held: Finding Significance and Security in the Shelter of God’s Embrace.
Michelle shares how God protected her and helped her get herself and her two daughters to safety.
The first section of Securely Held is on identity—and we see when we don’t truly understand who we are as God’s daughters—we open ourselves up to unsafe relationships.
You don’t want to miss Michelle’s story of deliverance amid unamaginable tragedy--when her precious five year old son is tragically killed in a car accident.
Yet we see God's hand as He begins to show her a peace that surpasses understanding and provides her a glimmer of hope that joy and sorrow can somehow coexist.
Finally, we'll hear about her Easter miracle as God steps in and rescues her and her girls on the heels of her young daughter’s gut-wrenching question, “Is my daddy gonna kill you?”
