Meet Jerry Arbs. He's a successful YouTube artist, videographer, photographer, vlogger, entrepreneur...and person. Join in continuing our ADHD conversations around the diagnosis itself and the ideas that swirl around in Jerry's head.
He began his YouTube channel with the goal of starting an ADHD conversations. He wants to talk about a lot of things but ADHD was the first topic that came to mind. So, he posted a video about what it was like to have it. You can see this video for yourself below.
I always enjoy spending time with Jerry and I'm sure you'll see why. He's warm, witty, and sensitive. And has thoughtfully mused over the subject of ADHD for most of his life.
He's come up with his own theories and revelations based on his perspective and then points out, so insightfully, that everything around us can only be viewed from our own perspective. And that everyone sees it different.
JERRY'S AWESOME QUOTE:
"Your perspective on life, the way you think about it, is literally...everything."
Jerry wants to ignite a conversation with you! Because so many people ask him if they have ADHD, he doubts it's a yes or no question, but would love your input. Listen to how we start the discussion and then add your point of view either below in the comments or visit Jerry at You Tube.
We also talk about perspectives and state of mind. Jerry thinks that the most important thing a person can do is explore who they are and how they best operate in order to live life happiest. After listening to him, I think he's on to something!

FLASHBACK FRIDAY | ADHD in Relationships
Rick Green says he's no ADHD expert; however, I question that. After all, isn't an expert someone who knows virtually everything there is to know on a subject? How he came to know just SO much about ADHD in relationships is just a part of his journey. I'm thrilled he took some time to sit with me and my co-host, Agnes Green, to share so much from epigenics to cognitive dissonance to stories of the experts with whom he's worked.
RICK'S AWESOME QUOTE:
"The one who's not upset will say, 'I'm on your team, I'm on your side. That's the reminder..."
ADHD in Relationships
Rick was recently honored as an inductee of the Order of Ontario. What that means is that his dedication to spreading ADHD awareness has not been in vain. In fact, his body of work has saved countless relationships and probably many lives. How's that for a non-expert?
I encourage you to check out his site, Totally ADD, a place where laughing and learning are side by side like videos on a shelf. Oh, yeah...and there are tons of videos to choose from in the shop! Below is the link to just one of the fabulous one's we dicuss in this episode. There are many others available at TotallyADDshop.com.
The Comprehensive Guide to ADHD - Living With ADHD (Video Download)

David shares his personal educational path beginning with the nontraditional classes and curriculum we both enjoyed in the 80's, in the progressive "Open" Program.
He went on to enjoy success as an opera singer and was offered acceptance into Julliard School of Music, but that wasn't to be. He chose to attend a state college instead, where he met his wife, of 25 years, and interestingly wound up in education himself. Today he works for Roanoke College as their "Media Technologies Guy".
DAVID'S AWESOME QUOTE:
"If you find something that works for you...do it."
David's parents discovered the Open Programs were the right fit for him. They were somewhat unstructured enough that he wasn't forced to sit behind a desk all day. And he was encouraged to follow his interests like acting, singing, and creating the school's radio program, much like today's Montessori Schools.
Listen in as he credits his early exposure to tech for creating his eventual career success and our musing about our formative years. Nontraditional environments probably helped us both to be out-of-the-box thinkers.
