February 05, 2024Episode 17: Trick of BlasphemyIn this episode, let’s talk progression versus tradition. I’m all for carrying forward the wisdom of the generations before me and I’m also curious as where the line is between heresy and progress. As the common adage goes: change is the only constant. Given that this fact is so commonly known, why do people tend to cling onto the way things have been? The paradox here is that in order to grow, we must first be in acceptance of how things are now. If I try to progress my belief system but I do it while I’m judging it and others that believe that way, that’s not going to get me anywhere. That’s a form of resistance where I create a battle between me and the old way of doing things.I talk about the way forward in Episode 17; what is a good practice for us in order to know what or when change is good? I’ll give you a hint: it’s a form of faith. People who have a lot of fear around progress and change are likely going to call our new kind of faith blasphemous. Who is right? Who is wrong? I’m happy to say that the answer to this doesn’t matter.Embracing change from the inside out and having true acceptance of it all is the way to stop the battle between the judgmental and the judged....more8minPlay
January 17, 2024Episode 16: Live the Question, That’s the AnswerIn this episode, the classic paradox is at hand: find the answer to life by surrendering to living the question.Trying to find definitive answers to life is done by living through preferences. If what I prefer, aka my likes and dislikes, is ruling my decision-making and even worldview, then I will never know my True Self. I will just be consistently disappointed because that’s the nature of likes and dislikes–it’s all temporary so what I like eventually goes away and what I dislike eventually makes an appearance.I talk about how living through a Higher Purpose can alleviate us from this cycle of feeling pulled by the ups and downs of life. We won’t ever know the definitive answer of anything. Anchoring my True Happiness to always knowing that I will never know, and all I have is my power to choose, is the only “answer”.Also, paradoxically, preferences are fine! Haha. Please listen and share. Thank you....more9minPlay
December 27, 2023Episode 15: Freedom is Not Cheetos for DinnerFreedom is the meat of a sandwich in which the bread is constraints!Today’s episode is about true freedom. There is a difference between just doing whatever your whims pull you to do and doing what you know aligns with your Highest Self and Commitment. When you can truly know yourself, you can make choices that free you up from the addictive cycle of pleasure and absence of pleasure.I really used to not understand this concept and wondered why my life sucked. I’m very blessed that I have just taken my medicine, listened to my teachers, and practiced the discipline to gain my long term happiness and lifestyle. Thanks for listening! November 10, 2023Episode 14: How Acceptance Always WinsBack from a short hiatus! Wow, did I resist making this episode. Why? Because in order to source each topic, I speak from what’s really happening in my life right now. This podcast is not meant to only be intellectually interesting. The work of taking these concepts of paradox into our real lives creates real change for us. Real results. Real empowerment! I did my work of dropping resistance and accepting what I needed to accept, and so Episode 14 was birthed.Today’s episode is about the paradox of acceptance. I talk about the opposing force of acceptance, which is resistance, and how to get clear on where it’s leeching energy from you. Then, I talk about what acceptance isn’t and what it truly is and how it always causes what we want. And how resisting your own resistance is a slippery slope to way more resistance!Check out this 11 minute episode ...more12minPlay
October 23, 2023Episode 13: Leggo My EgoI have discovered that if I remain unawakened and reactionary, my mind chooses my decisions for me based on its fears; but, if I put my mind to directing my mind, I can use it to choose from the foundation of my soul. It takes an acceptance of the ego to let go of the ego.We must transcend the ego-mind aka “the little self” in order to have eternal acceptance and bliss. Do you think that judging your own mind is the way to go? Do you, like me, catch yourself being in judgment or annoyance at your own thoughts? As a yogi wanting to be on the path to bigger and higher purposes, I sometimes find that I demonize my own brain. This episode is about how our monkey minds are not to be admonished like something wicked, but to be cherished and then used on the good path to the soul. So, how do you transcend your ego while letting it do its job?...more11minPlay
September 24, 2023Episode 12: Dead on ArrivalWhat’s happening if you’re not growing? Some would call it dying. In order to exercise our natural human progression, we must continue to make space for ourselves to grow.If I walk around all the time as if I have already arrived–like I have all the knowledge, I know exactly what’s right and what’s wrong, other people need to grow instead of me–then I am creating no space for newness and no curiosity for an upgraded experience. And I do this sometimes, admittedly! What’s interesting is that this practice goes hand in hand with the practice of settling into the fact that you are already whole and complete. Huh?! I’ve already got everything yet also I must remember I am never “there yet”?Listen to the episode for my take on the topic and a piece of practice to take with you. Living this paradox has been one of my biggest keys to peace and happiness for sure....more10minPlay
September 17, 2023Episode 11: The Paradox of BinaryAs a person that certainly “looks” non-binary, I get asked a lot about binary vs non-binary — I had a great time making this episode because it’s a concept I enjoy greatly. As an avid student of Yoga and Taoism, I’m so intrigued by how we can resolve the fighting of opposites by surrendering to the wholeness that arises when we have opposites to begin with! Both honoring binary and non-binary aspects of life give us a deep sense of peace. Listen to this episode to get some real-life practices as to how to remove yourself from the pull of one opposite over another. I’ll give you a hint: it’s a freakin’ paradox.Consider that any profound, meaningful, and useful tools (like boundaries and structures, like boundlessness and possibility) can actually be used harmfully when the person using them is ignorant of their part in the play of the big picture. And this is why humbly studying these concepts and tools from a place of curiosity can alleviate us humans from the suffering of righteousness.Practice the paradox of binary & non-binary without judging yourself or others. You are not your identities. You are the being that gets to choose how and why to identify in any particular way. Reside in that and know....more10minPlay
September 02, 2023Episode 10: Destined to Freely ChooseIs everything predetermined or do you have free will? Why not both? On today’s episode, I discuss how integrating this paradox in your thought processes and daily living can help you to feel powerful and enjoy your time as yourself on this planet. You are the only one who has the will to choose expressing who you want to be. Who you want to be: that’s your destiny. You are destined to want to be happy and powerful (and all the other words that generate the concept of total peace and bliss). How that gets expressed is up to the creative creator and wielder of will that you are!Listen to the episode for my full discussion of this and a clear way to bring this practice into your daily life!...more12minPlay
August 17, 2023Episode 9: Schrödinger’s Hundred Dollar BillI went big on this episode. Join me! The thought experiment about quantum superposition has always intrigued me because of its impossibility. Impossibility is interesting, though, because so many times in human history have people said “That’s impossible!” and then lo and behold — it becomes possible and then even normal at some point. In Episode 9, I encourage you to ponder about how you can both create and receive Creation at the same time. You can’t force it. You can’t just sit there and wish for it to happen for you, either. You’ve got to… check your pockets each time you do your laundry. If you’re wondering what all this means, give the episode a listen. August 02, 2023Episode 8: Hate Times Love Equals LoveThe math checks out. In this episode, I explore the conversation around how to defeat hatred and haters. It can’t be through more hate or more violence! So, how do you love a hater?I have dealt with droves of people judging me in my life and in my cases, I’ve felt a lot of resentment, victimhood, and/or sadness about it. It’s been and still is a years-long journey of learning how to forgive and how to live from love. Being happy has been my greatest achievement as an activist for my rights! Thanks so much for listening and please remember to share the show with your peers to help me complete my mission (and maybe one of your missions too!) to shift more and more people to enlightened thinking and being. ...more10minPlay
