  • Episode 047: Building Community Resilience and Empowerment Through Social Permaculture with Shera Sever

In the past few months, I've been hearing about more and more people using social permaculture to uplift those around them, build community, and create a positive impact in the world. This week's guest on the podcast, Shera Sever is a prime example of this. Shera has spent years gaining knowledge about traditional permaculture applications, as well as social permaculture topics like communication, and is now using her knowledge in all sorts of ways in order to help build resiliency and empowerment in communities around the country. But social permaculture can kind of be this huge, nebulous topic. So here in the blog post, we're going to break down some of the big aspects of social permaculture that Shera brought up in hopes of inspiring you to further apply Social Permaculture into your life, home, and community. But first, if you'd like to find out more about Shera and the amazing things she's moving forward, go check out her website at https://sherylsever.com/.

In the episode, Steven tells all about the real-life struggle of budding entrepreneurs and definitely doesn't sugar coat it. He uncovers some vital steps to launching into the entrepreneurial life, and tips for those already wading in it. • Episode 044: People Care World Report - The Great Awakening

Welcome back to another episode of the World Report, this time focusing on People Care... which is rather ironic considering the social unrest as of late across the U.S. over George Floyd's death. It seemed very timely to address this issue, so rampant throughout the country, and really, the world - racial inequality.

Josh went into plenty of detail in the podcast episode about the issues we're facing and the shift that needs to happen, in our own minds at first, so here we're going to address more of the resources he mentioned in the podcast to help you jump start your personal research on the topic.

First off, it is ESSENTIAL to point out that the recent unrest is NOT simply cops vs. African Americans. Here's a snippet from the news showing that that isn't where we are drawing battle lines.

Hello there! We're glad to have you back for another episode of the Seeds of Tao Podcast, this week we have the brilliant Delton Chen with us, tackling a HUGE issue in the world, the economy. Before we dive into what exactly Delton is proposing, and the value of his hypothesis, we wanted to be sure to reach out to our permaculture community to let them know that Delton's Silver Gun Hypothesis is in need of some passionate permies to help them move their vision forward...

The model is needed to investigate whether these two performance metrics will alternate with each subsequent generation of multi-agency. The model experiment will need to simulate the evolution of multi-agency under natural selection. • Episode 042: Raising Awareness and Respect for Our Food with Thane Kreiner

If you've been following us for a while now, you'll have noticed the emphasis we put on building consciousness so that we can create change. One of the many aspects this applies to our food. I'm personally super excited for this episode and post, because I (Emily) am a major deciding factor when it comes to what food enters our house and makes it into our mouths. I've always been an outspoken advocate for taking out the synthetics in our foods that are negatively affecting our health, and for finding more sustainable options. I'm also the catalyst for a lot of our diet experiments, whether we tested out being vegetarian, vegan, keto, alkaline, you name it. I'm constantly looking at ways to improve the quality of the food my family eats. So obviously, I'm super excited to dive into this topic with our guest from the podcast, Thane, who is an amazing author and permaculturist. He mentioned a few of his books in the episode, so if you'd like to check them out, visit the blog post that goes alongside this episode.

    Rhythms in Ourselves and Nature

We began our podcast by addressing rhythms, and I think that's a great way to set up this topic. There are rhythms everywhere, from the planets and seasons, to our daily routines and thought patterns. Permaculture itself is a design rhythm, patterned after nature, that we can implement just about everywhere. One thing I've found through homeschooling is that you get much greater success by working WITH... (Continue reading on Seeds of Tao)

In Episode 039, Josh is addressing this soil-loss issue, and mentioning many resources he has found along his research path. However, there is a lot of information out there, and we feel like everyone needs to be in charge of their own education on this urgent matter.
