    On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show, Harriet is joined by two guests.

    The first is Puppy Development Trainer Abi Howes who is going to be talking to us about what to do with your puppy or dog on rainy days! We’re going to talk inside enrichment, and wet weather activities suitable for any dog whether they’re a working Seeing Eye Dog, a puppy in training or a pet dog.

    Then we have a a short clip of an interview with puppy carer Leisha Watson about her life as a puppy carer and caring in a school.

  • Thayana and Shaylah's story & NAIDOC week

    On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show on Vision Australia Radio, we’re wrapping up our busy July with guest Thayana Mubila who is a Seeing Eye Dogs handler to Shaylah, and ambassador from the Petbarn Foundation Seeing Eye Dogs Appeal campaign.

    Then, Harriet is joined by Aunty Julieanne Axford Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung elder whose grandkids Bela and Levi named NAIDOC puppies in 2023. Aunty Julieanne is joining us to talk about the meaning and significance of NAIDOC week which in 2024 was 7 July 2024 – Sun, 14 July. Then I’m going to play the names of the 2024 NAIDOC named puppies, and a repeat of the 2023 names which were chosen by Julieanne’s family.

  • Lizzie and SED Lacey's story, NAIDOC pup names, puppy caring and vet tips

    On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show on Vision Australia Radio, Harriet has a partnership story, some news from SED HQ and vet tips to share.

    Seeing Eye Dogs handler Lizzie Eastham joins us on the show talking about her life, story and partnership with Seeing Eye Dog Lacey. Those of you who listen to Studio 1 may be familiar with Lizzie. Today, she's coming on to share her story. Lizzie is one of the ambassadors for the Petbarn Foundation Seeing Eye Dogs Appeal for 2024. If you'd like to support the appeal head in store to your local Petbarn or City Farmers store to make a donation to Seeing Eye Dogs

    Then, Harriet announces two of the special names given to puppies in recognition of NAIDOC week July 7-13 2024. These names were submitted by members of our community who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in celebration of their culture and connection to country.

    We also talk about one of the important questions about puppy caring "how do you give the puppy up?" and then finish this episode with some vet chat with Dr Ashe Mooney of Seeing Eye Dogs vet team about body condition score and healthy weight in dogs.

    On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show Harriet is joined by Seeing Eye Dogs handler Kerry Taunton. Kerry talks with us about her life up in Cairns and new partnership with Seeing Eye Dog Pearl and retired Seeing Eye Dog Minka and how she went from the challenges of cancer treatment and losing her sight to gain the confidence and positive attitude she has today.

    On this episode of the Seeing Eye Dogs Show Harriet is joined by two guests.

    Puppy and breeder carer Paul Gilling joins us talking about his experiences caring for Seeing Eye Dogs puppies and about taking them to his work as a physiotherapist. Seeing Eye Dogs puppy carer can work including full-time so in recognition of Take Your Dog To Work Day in June we wanted to share this story of Paul and his puppies in the allied health space.

    Training dog carer and volunteer in kennels and puppy centre Anja Schaefer joining us to talk about her life caring for dogs in our Seeing Eye Dogs training program and what the dogs get up to in a home environment during their training and her roles looking after young puppies on site.

    Dr Ashe Mooney from Seeing Eye Dogs Vet Team joins us to talk about cold weather care for dogs discussing some of the most common cold weather health conditions and some vet tips around those.
