Seeing your Value through God's eyes? [Joshua 1:1-11, Matthew 1:23] | 05.21.23 Weekend Message (Confirmation Sunday)
Fill in the blank: If someone calls me ______________, I get offended.
Over the years, the answer might change and it might not. One thing is for sure. Whatever your answer is to this question reveals something: what you deeply value. And, your answer may be connected to where you're tempted to get your self worth from.
Perhaps you get your self worth from other people's opinions. The funny thing about where people can truly get their self worth from is...it's not from themselves! So, where do you get it from and how can that give you confidence for today and the future?
This weekend at CrossWalk Church in Phoenix we are concluding our message series entitled "Worth It." We will take a look at how we can see our worth through God's eyes. God tells us in His Word a lot about Himself and a lot about us and our worth.
Listen to Jesus' words about the importance of getting our sense of worth from what God says: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4
It's also Confirmation Sunday, which means 6 young people who have spent 2 years in intense Bible study will be accepted into membership! We will celebrate this milestone at our 9am service in Laveen. What a perfect Sunday to talk about self worth as these young people join our family of believers in membership at CrossWalk and as they prepare to entire high school. What a perfect Sunday for all of us to reflect on where we get our sense of self worth and why that's so important!
