This episode features one of my favorite collaborations. We partner with Fierce Calm who is a non-profit organization, sharing community yoga saved my life stories, and supporting charities which make yoga accessible to all. Melanie is an ambassador for Fierce Calm and shares her #yogasavedmylife story during this episode. Melanie started teaching yoga in Afghanistan to military service members and civilians. She then got certified in Thailand, while there she was eating clean, and unknowingly at the same time she also had cancer. So, four months after she received her yoga certification, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Yoga tools such as breath work, meditation, movement, are tools that she used to get through one of the toughest times of her life. Listen to her story now!

We have Dr. Baxter Bell on the show today! Baxter Bell, MD, has been actively deepening his understanding of the power of yoga since making the stress-reducing move from a career as a busy family doctor to that of a yoga teacher and medical acupuncturist. He’s brought a lot of awareness into the topic of yoga for healthy aging. He drops so much knowledge on this episode that I wish I would have told my younger Danni self. You guys have to listen to this episode so you can incorporate yoga as a lifelong sustainable practice. Enjoy!

Derek Cook is on the show today and shines light on how alignment is overrated. Derek is passionate about biomechanics, anatomy, bodywork, and of course yoga. We have an epic discussion about this topic that gets a lot of heat. Derek is a a yogi and Anatomy teacher and the first anatomy teacher that has ever gotten me THIS excited about anatomy. We have a lot in common when it comes to alignment-based yoga and we get into why it’s important to look at it, but how it’s not the whole practice. I hope that you enjoy this episode, listen now!
