This week's guest curator is Anni and she chose the powerful 2017 "feminist exploitation film", REVENGE coming out of France, directed by Coralie Fargeat. This film takes the tropes of movies like "I Spit On Your Grave" & "Last House On The Left" , but shows them from a female point of view and it's subject matter was incredibly timely. All that is well and good, but what about the filmmaking? Anni, Dan & Muji explain why they all thought this was one of the best of the decade. 

Everybody loves a clown...but maybe not this one. This week we dive deep into Damian Leon's dark and disturbing practical effects cavalcade, TERRIFIER (2016) and meet the delightfully disgusting Art The Clown. We discover the origin of Art and detail the background and story of this modern grindhouse film.

Our "decade of death" continues with the 2017 workplace horror/action/comedy MAYHEM from director Joe Lynch, starring Steven Yeun and Samara Weaving. On this episode host Rev Dan Wilson explains why this was his favorite film of the decade and how the message resonated with him on such a level that it was a catalyst for a major life change.  Available on all major podcast providers!

 Season 4 continues with TRAIN TO BUSAN a 2016 film that showed the world that despite pop culture zombie fatigue, there is plenty of life left in the undead if you tell the right story. We learn about how director Yeon Sang-ho's background in animation prepared him for his first feature, what social commentary he was trying to include, his ultimate goal for the film and much more. While there was some stiff competition, we explain we think this is the finest zombie film of the last decade.

We continue our look at the "best of the decade" here in Season 4, A decade of death. This season continues to bring a wide variety of films as we now look at a "horror-western" in 2015's Bone Tomahawk starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Richard Jenkins and many, many more great stars. On this episode we learn about the background of writer/director S. Craig Zahler and how producer Dallas Sonnier put it all on the line in betting on the success of this film. We also use this film as a prime example of how reported box office numbers online are often misleading, especially as the distribution models in Hollywood evolve with technology.  

Spooky season is upon us and we're celebrating an old fashion Colonial America Halloween with the 2015 film "The Witch". We discuss the obsessive detail that director/writer Robert Eggers went into for each scene, character, setpiece, dialect and setting to bring this New England Folktale to life and much more.
