Chris Gatlyn taught through Matthew 2:1-12 asking us “What is it that we are
seeking?” We are all seeking something. The Wisemen had to answer four
questions in order to seek Jesus. These are the same four questions we need
to answer today as we seek Jesus.
1. A question of allegiance – “Who is my King”? – we make that choice
every day. We need to make sure Jesus is in his rightful place as
king of our life.
2. A question of focus – “What will I behold”? - who or what has
captured our heart’s attention? What we behold, we will eventually
become. God created us to behold focus on Jesus.
3. A question of faith – “How will I respond to uncertainty”? We don’t
always know how things will turn out. Will we put our trust in God
then; and let go of any fear we may have?
4. A question of devotion – “What will we worship”? Maybe our
priorities have made a good thing, an ultimate thing that we put
above God himself. He is inviting you to worship and exalt Him and
find your fulfillment in Him alone.
God is inviting each of us, like the wise men, to seek Jesus more deeply.
