Yesterday I talked about the Spiritual Gifts that we receive when we accept Jesus' true salvation and the Holy Spirit comes to live in our hearts. Today I cover the Fruits of the Spirit which are a little different. We don't automatically get them -- we have to pick them. However, they help us to live righteous lives and obey God. Growing up Catholic, I knew the Holy Spirit (or Ghost) as part of the Trinity. However, not having Jesus' true Salvation, I was missing the benefits of having the Holy Spirit in me -- in my heart.
Jesus said in John 14:26 (AMP): “But when the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, He will testify and bear witness about Me."
Once I was baptized, it still took me a while to fully grasp all the benefits of the Holy Spirit living in me.

Each day we make decisions. As soon as you get out of bed, you can either focus on the world or focus on Jesus. One of the benefits of Jesus' true salvation is a NEW LIFE in Christ. You leave your old, sinful life behind and you are forgiven and eternally washed clean through the blood of Jesus.
If you are broken, you will be made whole. The Hebrew word for "peace" is Shalom which means more than just peace, but wholeness and completion.
