TuRae was born on June 15, 1973, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA as TuRae Gordon. He is a writer and actor, known for BET's Comicview (1992), The Funny Spot (2008), and Def Comedy Jam (1992).   TuRae Gordon has done a lot of things during his time as one of the top local Philly comedians. He’s acted in films such as Underground Kings, he’s appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and he’s headlined everywhere. What the gruff-voiced comic hasn’t done in a while is release a solo comedy album, a situation he’s set to remedy when he hosts a live recording session this Thursday at Punch Line Philly, September 20.  Most comedians try to make it struggle really hard. Not that the struggle makes you an automatic star, but I think we lose sight of what we are traveling for. It is a journey. We meet new people, go to new places, and see great new things. I see so many of my peers get discouraged, bitter, and disillusioned. So many of us feel like we are deserved better places, shows, and roles. But do you do the work it takes? When you work hard toward a goal, you have no choice but to occupy yourself with forward movement and when you look up, you will be further down the road than where you began. I've been walking down that road for quite some time. Keep walking my people. Please keep walking.  SeeStandup.com is a company designed in partnership with many comedians.  The specialty of this company is fundraising using entertainment.  Call 773-441-4044 for info The Platinum Laughs Series is the main marketing anchor for SeeStandup.com.
