In this Sabbath session of the 20-part Wealth, Obedience, and Legacy study, we open Proverbs 3 and discover that wealth begins not with money, but with wisdom, mercy, truth, and obedience.
We unpack verses 1–12 as a blueprint for a life of abundance:
- Length of days, peace, and favor come when God’s commandments are written on the heart and worn openly in our lives.
- Mercy and truth must not only be inward medicine for self-doubt but also an outward testimony that others can see.
- Trust, lean not, and acknowledge — three steps that unlock God’s direction in all we do.
- Honoring the Lord with substance reminds us that wealth requires something to give; substance goes beyond money to all the ways God increases us.
- Barns filled with plenty show that abundance requires planning, sowing, reaping, and teamwork—it’s not a solo journey.
- Correction and chastening are essential to growth; failure and mistakes are not disqualifiers but necessary teachers on the wealth path.
This study reminds us that Elohim designed wealth to be communal, purposeful, and disciplined. It cannot be prayed into existence without work. Just as Adam was placed in the garden to till and manage, so must we engage labor, creativity, and partnership to see barns filled and presses overflowing.
