In 2007, she landed her breakout role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. In addition to her acting career, Selena also began to pursue a career in music. In 2009, she formed the band Selena Gomez & the Scene. The band released three studio albums, all of which were commercially successful.
