Self-care is not a once in a while thing to do when you're feeling a type of way. It is a necessity to remind yourself of your own inherent worth and deservingness.
It doesn't have to be expensive days at the salon or spa. It can truly be as simple as the ideas listed below:
Revisit a childhood hobby (coloring, puzzles, crafts)
Celebrate a small win — something you usually dismiss.
Sit with a cup of coffee or tea for 15 minutes without your phone
Say “no” to one thing you don’t actually want to do.
Leave a conversation that drains you
Stop over-explaining yourself.
Sit outside and get sunlight for 10 minutes.
Take a slow walk with no destination.
Listen to music with headphones and close your eyes.
Do a body scan meditation.
Review your finances and make a plan.
Apply for a job that scares you a little.
Start a creative project.
Declutter 10 items from your house.
Pray or meditate
Write a gratitude list for the day
Spend time in nature without headphones.
Taking care of yourself is often misconstrued as time intensive, expensive and a luxury. You can absolutely make it a luxury for yourself, but it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg or your own sanity and peace of mind.
