When life gets overwhelming, most of us have healthy outlets for releasing stress; pray, listen to music, go for a run. However, some may choose to self-harm – intentionally causing injury to oneself – as a way of attempting to cope. Dr. Joannie DeBrito works on the Counseling team as a Hope Restored Aftercare Coach. She is co-creator of Focus on the Family's suicide prevention program, ALIVE TO THRIVE and Joannie continues to speak about suicide and other issues related to youth mental health.
