I’m always negative about myself, how can i stop?

    1. You are not your thoughts – don’t identify with what goes on in your mind.

    2. Take control – you can consciously decide on what you want to think.

    3. Questions are cues – what would you like to think about yourself?

    4. Attention directs energy – focus more on what you do like about yourself.

    5. Repetition leads to mastery – keep practicing thinking correctly, everyday.

What are some ways that a "normal" person could become a millionaire?

You must begin to think in 2nd and 3rd order consequences.

“Normal people” make decisions based on what feels good right now, or what they can do to avoid feeling uncomfortable right now.

Millionaires, on the other hand, do what is uncomfortable and doesn’t feel good right now to get what they really want in the long run.

This means sacrificing short term pleasure today in exchange for delayed gratification in the future.

Some ways you can do that starting today:  Invest 25% of your monthly income in an index fund (self-imposed tax) Live below your means by cutting expenses (downgrades) Educate yourself and spend hours daily honing your craft (sacrifices)

Q: Do these sound like fun to you?

     A: Not if you’re thinking short-term.

If you ate a 500 calorie tub of ice-cream every evening for 30 days straight…  First order consequence: It tastes delicious.  Second order consequence: You experience a rush and struggle to sleep, a light headache sets in after a while before you feel the inevitable sugar crash.

Third order consequence: You’ve developed an addiction to sugar, you’re gaining a significant amount of weight and your energy levels are dropping.  Contrast this with a habit like doing cardio every morning for 30 days…

Can you figure out what the 1st, 2nd and 3rd order consequences would be here?

Now you’re training your brain to think ‘big picture’ instead of being focused on instant gratification.  It doesn’t mean that you never buy yourself a new pair of shoes, but rather that you prioritize building your wealth ahead of dumb expenses.

The great Albert Einstein once said “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn't … pays it.”   If you invest $1,000 per month for 25 years in the stock market and earn an annual return of 10 percent, for example, you’d have more than $1 million dollars. Add just another 5 years (to a total of 30) and you’ve reached nearly $2 million dollars.

When we’re so caught up looking for quick fixes, we forget how tangible that reality can be for absolutely anyone who’s willing to delay gratification and stick to a few key principles.

Ever thought to yourself, “what’s even the point of trying?”

Yeah, me too. It’s a disturbing feeling… So let’s not do that and feel a motivated fire in the belly type of vibe instead, sound good?

    Yessiiiiiiir.

    1. Discontinue Your SFP: The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy of “I’m not motivated” has to end now. Tell yourself you are ready to change.

    2. Take a Shower: Both figuratively and literally… Cleanse yourself of negative conversations, content and environments.

    3. Quick Wins: Build momentum by doing things that are easy, go for the low hanging fruit when you don’t have the energy to reach higher.

    4. Find a Meaningful Why: It has to pull you towards putting in the effort, instead of hopelessly trying to push and force yourself.

    5. Provoke Other Emotions: Motivation is easy if can evoke it through another emotion, ever heard of mothers lifting a car to save their child?

    6. Discover the Culprit: Something caused you to lose motivation in the first place, identifying it will help protect you going forward.

    7. Become Process Focused: Forget about all end goals and long-term agendas for now, just enjoy the journey by releasing internal pressure.

After coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs it has become obvious. Successful people follow a ‘winning pattern’ – and this is how it works.

1st – Move Your Lazy Ass

The deadly sin here is unlocking your phone and checking notifications or opening a social media app. At that point you can pretty much wave goodbye to your intentions and watch as your day gets hijacked by everyone else.

It’s not your fault that our brains are optimised to look for easy & quick solutions, to take the road of least resistance…

Help yourself out by using one of the following alternatives:

    A) Dedicated alarm clock (or a voice assistant type device)

    B) Phone in a different room (or far from your bed at the very least)

    C) Smart alarm app that makes you solve some type of puzzle

Then exercise. Always exercise. Even if you just do 10 jumping-jacks or push-ups.

It is about the principle of momentum here, and getting the blood flowing right away to jumpstart your day. Even if it’s just a quick walk, move!

    2nd – Outsmarting The Ego

We’ll want to build you a powerful habit stack, but before we can do that, there’s something important we need to understand.

Relying on your willpower to make the right decision day by day is a surefire way to set yourself up for failure. Making the right decision over and over again every single day is nearly impossible.

On the other hand, making the right decision just ONE-TIME is doable for anyone.

This is exactly how I transformed myself, a previously lethargic, overweight, anxious and depressed janitor to living the life of my wildest dreams and doing what I love every single day.

If I had to re-decide how many calories I was going to burn with each workout on a daily basis, I’d probably just skip the whole thing all together.

But if you set a minimum for yourself, it could be 10, 30, 50, 100, 250… Whatever works for you to start off with, then it becomes automatic. This can also work with reps of an exercise like push-ups, jumping-jacks, etc.

Here’s the two different setups you can be working with for any habit:

    1. The Shitty One: “Am I going to meditate today?”

    2. The Good One: “How much longer will I meditate today past my 5-minute minimum?”

Now you see how much easier it becomes to do the right thing, it’s a result of setting yourself up for it correctly.

Remember that just *a few minutes* of planning can save you a lifetime of doing.

    3rd – Stacking Success

So now all you have to decide on is what your habit stack will be.

This one has stuck with me for almost 7 years now, and it works a treat:

    1. Wake-up, get out of bed instantly and exercise (I typically use a rowing machine now, but started with simple sit-ups and push-ups)

    [Minimum 30 calories]

    2. Meditate by focusing on my breath and letting thoughts pass by with no judgement (letting go and allowing myself to become present)

    [Minimum 10-minutes]

    3. Plan my intentions for today and set my goals

[Minimum 1 project to be focused on]
