In this sermon, we look at the man to whom the revelation of Jesus Christ was given. Who was he? What was he doing at the time? And what did he see in this initial vision?

In the introductory sermon of this series, we learn that the primary purpose of Revelation is not to expound prophecy, but to exalt a person - Revelation is about Jesus!

Though the nation of Judah has broken its covenant with God, Jeremiah foresees a day when God will institute a new covenant with His people - a covenant built upon faith in Christ.

God always has the best interests of His children in mind. Thus, even when we find ourselves in the midst of Babylon, we know God has a future and a hope for us.

As captives in Babylon, the people of Judah were far from home and seemingly far from God. But God still had a plan for His people, just as He does for us. (The sermon is joined already in progress.)

There is coming a day when God will gather His people and heal them under the reign of a Righteous King.

Whether you are a "desert shrub" or a "tree planted by the waters" depends in whom you put your trust - man or God. This is Jeremiah's message to the nation of Judah, and to us.

Like the nation of Judah, all people are by our very nature on a road that leads to destruction. However, God in His mercy invites us to walk the old paths, where the good way is.

In looking at the call of Jeremiah, we learn how to respond to the call of God upon our own lives.
