Sen. Ron Johnson (WI-R) is organizing a letter from physicians to push the President to ease restrictions and increase access to the malaria drug Hydroxychloroquine, which has shown great promise in the treatment of COVID-19. Johnson says he is concerned that absent guidance from the F.D.A. and the C.D.C. doctors and hospitals "were reluctant to try" the malaria drug. The Senator also wants President Trump to issue an executive order banning governors from limiting hydroxychloroquine to hospitalized patients and wants to block disciplinary action against doctors and pharmacists who use the drug.
