Who?
Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) — Original sponsor, UAP Disclosure Act
LISTEN: Laslo & Rounds
Ask a Pol asks:
If the White House is moving on UAP disclosure on its own, do you guys still need your bill?
Key Rounds:
“I think we can still work in tandem,” Sen. Mike Rounds exclusively told Ask a Pol UAP. “I think there’s a realization that if we’ve got information out there that can be released, it’s probably just a good thing to be released.”
ICYMI — Update: Networks still attacking us - Ask a Pol’s on Venmo, PayPal, Cash App — or just buy the team a beer!
Caught our ear:
“I just want to make sure that if we are releasing stuff, none of it has to do with anything that would impact our national security in terms of our programs or our intel on other programs,” Rounds tells us.
Below find a rough transcript of Ask a Pol’s exclusive interview with Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD), slightly edited for clarity.
TRANSCRIPT: Sen. Mike Rounds (6-10-2026)
SCENE: Sen. Mike Rounds — a key co-sponsor of the UAP Disclosure Act alongside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer — is moving through the Capitol on June 10 when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches him for a quick but substantive exchange on whether the senator’s landmark disclosure bill is still necessary now that the White House has begun moving on UAP release on its own.
Matt Laslo: “Have you looked at any of these videos the Pentagon’s released?”
Sen. Mike Rounds: “Not in an organized fashion, no.”
ML: “Yeah. I’m just curious about the dynamics with your UAP Disclosure Act with Schumer — if the White House is moving on that on its own, do you guys not need your bill?”
Rounds: “I don’t know. I think we can still work in tandem. I think there’s a realization that if we’ve got information out there that can be released, it’s probably just a good thing to be released.”
ML: “Yeah.”
Rounds: “But I just want to make sure that if we are releasing stuff, none of it has to do with anything that would impact our national security in terms of our programs or our intel on other programs.”
