  • 11/01/2026 - Guardrails - Part 6: Valued
Have you ever overlooked or underestimated someone or something, only to discover later how valuable they really were? The sixth commandment is only a few words, but behind it is a much bigger truth: life has value because God gives it value. And if that is true, it should shape not only what we believe about life, but also how we defend it and how we treat the people around us. Join us as we discover what it means to recognize, defend, and demonstrate the value of life.

  • 10/25/2026 - Guardrails - Part 5: Respect
Growing up, what was one household rule or saying you heard so often you can still repeat it today? Looking back, was it helpful, funny, or frustrating? Our relationship with our parents changes as we grow. The way we honor them at 8 years old probably won’t look the same at 18, 38, or 68. And because there are no perfect parents or perfect families, sometimes honoring them can be more complicated than it sounds. Join us for Guardrails - Part 5: Respect. We’ll look at why God places such importance on honoring our parents, what that can look like through the different seasons of life, and how we can show respect without pretending every relationship is simple or perfect.

  • 10/18/2026 - Guardrails - Part 4: Sunday Matters
Ever had a snow day or canceled plans give you permission to slow down? Did you enjoy the break, or was it hard to shake the feeling that you should be doing something? Rest can do more than refresh us. Choosing to pause, worship, and make time for God also shows the people around us what matters most. Sometimes, our calendars say more about our priorities than our words do. Join us for Guardrails - Part 4: Sundays Matter. We'll explore why a rhythm of rest matters for our own lives and the message our lives send to others.

  • 10/11/2026 - Guardrails - Part 3: Honor God's Name
How important is your name to you? Do you know what it means? Maybe there’s a story behind it, a nickname that stuck, or a time someone remembered your name when you didn’t expect them to. Names matter, and God’s name matters too. Join us for Guardrails - Part 3: Honor God’s Name. We’ll look at what it really means to misuse God’s name, including some things we may assume it means, what it actually looks like, and the ways it can quietly show up in our everyday lives.

  • 10/04/2026 - Three Ways to Celebrate
What does it really mean to celebrate God, not just with a special occasion, but with the way we live? And what might change if worship became something we approached with greater purpose?
This Sunday is an especially meaningful one at SCC as we gather for our Anniversary Celebration Service and give thanks for 50 years of God’s faithfulness. We’ll also welcome guest speaker Doug Geeze, director of Venture Northeast, as he challenges us to consider why we were created and what it looks like to respond to a God who is worthy of far more than casual attention. Join us as we celebrate where God has brought us, look ahead to what He is still doing, and consider how our lives can become part of the celebration.

  • 9/27/2026 - Guardrails - Part 2: No Idols
Have you ever tried a substitute that just wasn’t as good as the real thing? Maybe it was a generic product, a replacement part, a shortcut, or a “close enough” solution. Sometimes you don’t realize what made the original so good until you try replacing it. Join us for Guardrails - Part 2: No Idols, as we continue looking at the Ten Commandments and discover why God cares so much about what takes first place in our hearts.

We all have things competing for our attention, time, and energy. So how do we decide what comes first? Join us as we continue our message series, Guardrails. We’ll look at what it means to put God first, not just in what we believe, but in the everyday parts of life like our relationships, schedules, finances, interests, and troubles. Sometimes getting life headed in the right direction starts with getting the first things first.

  • 9/13/2026 - Guardrails - Part 1A: God First

Join us as we kick off our new series, Guardrails, with Part 1: God First. We’ll start with the first commandment and discover why putting God first isn’t about limiting our freedom, but learning to live the way we were created to live.

  • 9/06/2026 - Hey Jude - Part 4: Eyes to See Home
When you can’t see the way home, can you trust the One who can? Jude has spent much of his letter warning us about drift, deception, and the need to contend for our faith. But as he reaches the end, his focus shifts. Instead of leaving us looking at everything we need to do, he points us toward what God is able to do. Join us as we wrap up our Hey Jude series with Part 4: Eyes to See Home. Come be reminded of the hope we have when the road feels uncertain and we need someone greater than ourselves to carry us through.

  • 8/30/2026 - Hey Jude - Part 3: Fight, Fight, Fight
Think about something you’ve had to fight to hold onto: a habit, relationship, goal, conviction, or commitment. What made it worth the fight? Join us as we continue our Hey Jude series with Part 3: Fight, Fight, Fight. Jude challenges us to contend for the faith, but that fight may need to begin closer to home than we expect. What does it look like to hold onto our faith, strengthen it, and stay grounded when it would be easier to drift?
