In an inpatient setting there may be a social worker type figure available to help. In an outpatient setting, the senior care world greatly lacks a branch or position responsible for corralling all of the resources available to provide proper guidance, or even a North Star, for the loved ones taking care of our aging adults. In this episode we share examples, and ideas and even ask you for any of your stories, resources, ideas or successful attempts at care navigation in your industry or with loved ones.

A recent HCOA newsletter email arrived, stating that the US Department of Veterans Affairs was exceeding it's budget, and that the VA would be monitoring billing and claims by agencies to ensure compliance with new changes that are being implemented. The average number of hours allocated to veteran care by the VA is six to sixteen (6-16) hours a week, and because they're all being used, it's apparently too much?

We're just going to open this episode standing on the soapbox, instead of casually bringing the soapbox in to the picture later.
