Welcome to my channel Señora Loera - Tu maestra de Español! In this video, we’re going to explore something that often confuses Spanish learners when they listen to native speakers: la sinalefa.

Have you noticed that Spanish speakers often blend words together when speaking naturally? It’s not your imagination! This blending of sounds is called sinalefa, a phenomenon where a word ending in a vowel links with the next word starting with a vowel.

For example:
¿Cómo estás? may sound like “¿Com’ estás?”
Lo invito can sound like “Loinvito”

This is completely normal in spoken Spanish and happens all the time in everyday conversations — it’s part of what makes Spanish sound smooth and fast!
