June 10, 2020 Episode 46: Watchmen Part I - Exploring Alan Moore's Masterpiece
Strong together, united forever, come and meet your friends, Stefan, Brandon, and Chris, as they dive head first into Alan Moore's iconic comic, Watchmen! With an extreme lack of references to the Sequel Decay canon at their disposal, the trio take all the time they can to discuss the comic, its context both within the industry as well as within the sociopolitical climate of the United States at the time, the various characters and what they represent, as well as how the book feels about humanity.
There's also a really stupid running gag throughout the entire episode, and they do stop to mock Elon Musk, so there are some jokes, but this is only the beginning of a really heavy run through Watchmen.
NOTE: Part II, which covers the different adaptations, spin-offs, and comic-related sequels and prequels to Watchmen has been recorded as of sometime last week. However, there are many very easy ways to connect HBO and Damon Lindelof's Watchmen miniseries to the events happening in the United States as of this episode's release. Because we are three non-Black people, we don’t feel comfortable potentially co-opting an important uprising and risking trivializing it by relating it to a comic book TV show. We feel strongly that at this crucial point in time, the voices that should be heard first and foremost with regards to the history of systemic racism in North America are Black voices. As such, we will not be publishing the episode until we feel it’s appropriate to do so. Thank you for your understanding, and don't forget that Black Lives Matter!

Why Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a franchise they have nothing to say about? That's the same question the boys ask themselves as they discuss the joys of 90s kids' movie humour, the career of Vanilla Ice, and how much they didn't pay attention to Turtles in Time.
Also, to commemorate the (approximate) anniversary of the release of Sequel Decay's first episode, the episode closes with the boys trying to decide on the worst movie they've covered in their time doing this truly unforgettable program.
