Sequel Pitch

Yibambe!

The meeting of minds is back! This week, on the day that the public finally get to see what Marvel and Kevin Feige have got for us in Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Matt is hosting as Ross and Andy battle it out pitching their sequels for 2018's Marvel epic, Black Panther.

Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring the frankly insane cast of Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. And led, of course, by the late, great, gone far too soon Chadwick Boseman.

Expect three white British men doing their very, VERY best to be respectful whilst also trying to make a podcast with funny bits in it. Honestly, it's as hard as it sounds

RIP Chadwick

If you're not already, please consider subscribing on your podcast app of choice so that you get our episodes as soon as they land. And leave us a review if we think we deserve it so that new people can see what others think - the best places for that being Apple Podcasts, Podchaser, Spotify or in the Goodpods app. We'll try to shout you out on the show if you do!

Please tell your friends about us if you think they might enjoy the show! We're not in a position to pay to advertise the show right now, so bring people into the fold if you think they'll have some fun!

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Ross is hosting a head to head with Andy and Matt (although Drew does have a spooky cameo), while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2002 military action werewolf horror black comedy, Dog Soldiers, directed by Niel Marshall and starring Kevin McKidd, Sean Pertwee and Liam Cunningham

Expect many, many, MANY dog related puns, a bunch of people surprised at how much they enjoyed the movie, and an egregious attack on Drew's manhood by Ross

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Ross is hosting his own head to head episode against Andy, with guest judging duties from returning horror maestro Kat Hughes!

And of course, it wouldn't be a halloween month episode with doing an episode on HALLOWEEN! And seeing as Halloween Ends is out on the day of release, we thought it would be rude not to be pitching our own versions, so we've reviewed and are pitching our sequels to the 2021 horror sequelboot sequel to 2018's Halloween, Halloween Kills! Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green along with, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier. And of course, starring the absolute legendary scream queen herself, Jamie Lee Curtis.

Expect just... insanity. Really. It's mad. So much death. Crikey.

I have been writing about movies for the last eight years, mainly writing for the entertainment website THN. Although happy to cover a range of projects and genres my heart lies with the horror genre, with FrightFest being a highlight of her calendar year.

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Andy is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 1993 family horror comedy Hocus Pocus in celebration of the sequel arriving on Disney Plus!

Expect some destroyed childhoods, surprisingly good scores, and some extremely horrific ideas in these pitches!

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Matt is hosting, while Drew and Andy review and pitch sequels for the 2018 Action Sci-Fi franchiser The Predator, directed by Shane Black and starring Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen and Sterling K. Brown.

You might have been expecting an episode on Prey, but NO! We're going to go ahead and do the movie that very few people liked rather than the new one that's getting loads of praise, because trying to follow a frustrating movie is WAY more fun than following a good one! Also... Prey sequels are really hard, so we gave up on that

Expect a surprising amount of apology for liking several aspects of this movie, lots of off world shenanigans in the sequel pitches, and unfortunately some connection issues from the host, so apologies if some of this comes off a little disjointed!

Content Warning - this movie does feature kids dying, and quite a distressing dog death scene

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Andy is hosting for a film based on one of his favourite books EVER, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2007 Sci-Fi actiony horror, I Am Legend, starring Will Smith

Expect Spooky vampire noises, not much in the way of addressing Will Smith's current standing in the industry, and some dreadful vampire puns... and Andy besmirching Drew's name by saying that he's missed this show this episode because he's trapping women

!!!CONTENT WARNING!!! There are some fairly adult jokes in this episode - it's all in good fun, but what can we say, Dave's energy is infectious! And stick around to the very end of the episode to hear some clips of their show

The meeting of minds is back for OUR FIFTIETH EPISODE! And WHAT. A. MOVIE to have for episode 50 holy moly

This week, Ross is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2004 Olsen Twins teen... comedy? Ferris Beuller rip off? Road Trip movie? How about all of the above! Directed by Dennie Gordon, and starring Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Andy Richter. Jared Padalecki and the absolute best thing in this movie, Eugene Levy

Expect a LOT of inappropriate jokes... seriously, a lot, but my goodness we had fun recording this one. The sequels on this one are NOT in any way trying to be serious, basically, just enjoy Dave's fantastic madcap energy as we all desperately try to keep up!

Disturbingly Pragmatic - Find Dave and Paul on socials and podcast apps here!

BRRRWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Drew is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2010 Action... sci-fi (psyche-fi, eh EH?!) Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Elliot Page, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe and Cillian Murphy

Expect plot hole discussions, crazy sequel ideas, a whole lot of squeeing over amazing practical effects, Drew's catch phrase making a return, and plenty of BRWWAAAAAAAAs

The meeting of minds is back! This week, Ross is hosting, while the gang review and pitch sequels for the 2021 Disney animation musical feast, Encanto! Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard and starring Brooklyn 99's Stephanie Beatriz, John Leguizamo, Diane Guerrero, Maria Cecilia Botero, Jessica Darrow, with instant ear-worm songs such as We Don't Talk About Bruno, The Family Madrigal and Surface Pressure from the man who continues to be the man of the moment in musical movies right now, Lin Manuel Miranda

You can expect Matt talking about his new twins and finding movie inspiration in them, four white British dudes just massacring the pronunciations of Spanish words and names (we are so sorry), a little bit of real talk about mental health, and the best opening of any episode of Sequel Pitch yet, hands down
