  • EP42 - The Room Sequel
Tommy Wiseau's 2003 film, The Room is infamous for it's no holds barred assault on decent filmmaking. Nonsensical dialogue, dozens of dropped plot lines and an otherworldy performance by the lead actor have made it the most talked about "So bad it's good" film of the 21st century.
There's no experience quite like seeing The Room for the first time, so who would dare to try and duplicate it? Enter the SequelQuest crew of Jeff, Jeramy and Adam in a fatally flawed discussion about how to manufacture a sequel to a movie that defies description.
What more can be said? Listen now to one of our strangest episodes ever as we enter the incredibly bizarre universe of The Room.

  • EP41 - The Mask Franchise - SequelQuest
1994 was a huge year at the movies for Jim Carrey, seeing the release of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, as well as Dumb & Dumber. It was also the year of his starring role in The Mask, which also marked the film debut of Cameron Diaz. Thanks to Carrey’s live action cartoon antics, the madcap, green faced comic book hero soon spun his way into the hearts of the moviegoing public in a film performance that was undeniably “Ssssmmmmokin’!” Unfortunately we never got to see Jim Carrey reprise the role.
A universally panned sequel, Son of The Mask starring Jamie Kennedy failed to re-ignite interest in the property, but the SequelQuest crew couldn’t let that be the fate of such an entertaining big screen icon. The possibilities presented by the magical force of the Mask are endless and it’s time to explore what a 3rd film in the franchise could be.
Join Jeff, Jeramy, Adam and special guest, Colin as they discuss the phenomenon of the New Line Cinema’s hilarious film and it’s comic book origins, then pitch their ideas for bringing back the outrageous adventures of The Mask to the world.

  • EP39 - Gremlins 3 - SequelQuest
1984, the year we learned that terrifying things come in cute packages, if you don't follow the rules. Gremlins written by Chris Columbus, produced by Steven Spielberg and Directed by Joe Dante was a horrific surprise to many as little green monsters terrorized a small town on Christmas Eve.
The furry Mogwai known as Gizmo and his human buddy, Billy (Zach Gallagan) returned to the big screen in 1990 for an even wackier adventure that saved New York City in Gremlins 2: The New Batch before finding themsleves lost to cinematic history. Finally, 27 years later, it's time for a showstopping return.
SequelQuest presents Gremlins 3! This time Jeff, Jeramy, Adam along with special guest and professional puppeteer, Kelly Campbell (Jeff's sister) are imagining under what circumstances you dare unleash the Gremlins upon humanity again. So click below to listen to all the fun and mayhem.
As an added bonus we were lucky enough to get an interview with the designer and original puppeteer of the Gremlins, Chris Walas. You can click here to learn the true origins of Gizmo, Stripe and the rest of those troublesome green guys.

  • EP38 - Xana, Too! - SequelQuest
Pull up your leg warmers and lace up your skates, because this week SequelQuest is traveling back to the 80’s with Xanadu! Starring the unlikely screen duo of Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, this roller disco box office bomb is big on musical fun, but scant on story, making it notorious in the world of “so bad it’s good” cinema.
But what do you expect from a movie combining 40’s swing music with classic rock sounds of Electric Light Orchestra? Yeah, it’s as bad as it sounds. That’s why Adam, Jeff, Justin and Jeramy (OK, mostly Adam) decided to jump back into the realm of magical, musical fantasy to see if there was any way of salvaging this maligned cult classic with a sequel story.
So what does an update to the cheesy world of Xanadu look like? In a universe where anything goes, the possibilities are endless. How about a horrific murder spree at the abandoned roller disco? Could Hollywood come calling for a kitschy revival? What about the adventures of the perky, muse diva offspring of Sonny and Kira from the first film?
This is one of our most ridiculous and fun episodes, but also marks our final recording with co-host and good buddy, Justin. It’s a great end of an era that gets to the heart of the SequelQuest style, so join in on the excitement and listen now.

  • EP37 - Midnight In Paris Sequel - SequelQuest
A sequel to a Woody Allen film? It’s never been done, but does that mean it’s truly impossible? The SequelQuest crew was so enchanted by the magic of Midnight in Paris, we decided to revisit the world of Owen Wilson’s Gil Pender and imagine which era his time traveling adventures could take him to next.
Join Adam, Jeff, Jeramy and returning guest host, Judy as they pitch whimsical tales of bygone eras. One story may have won out in the end, but the possibilities were all exciting, if not a little bit neurotic.
So join us for this engaging discussion of a controversial auteur and the continuation of an Academy Award winning world he created that made us think about the true impact of nostalgia.

  • EP36 - Movie Mash Up Episode - SequelQuest
Why settle for a sequel to a single film, when you can get two sequels for the price of one?! In our Monster Mash-Up Special Adam we decide which cinematic universes deserve to be brought together in one explosive crossover movie experience. Some ideas may seem obvious, while others you just won’t see coming.
So join Adam, Jeff and Jeramy as they pitch ideas for a literary protagonist and video game heroine banding together to survive against the elements, an undersea adventurer meeting his meta match in a famous sci-fi author and two horror icons destined to cross paths (and blades) in a splatterfest you’ve been clamoring for.
Along the way we discuss our favorite movie mash-ups that already made their way to the screen, as well as a few more ideas for Hollywood to consider. So join the fun and listen now!
