Sequences Magazine

G’day one and all. Get set for a fresh cut of new music from some fine musicians in our world of electronic music.

No techno or dance here, just music to find it’s way into your innerself. It’s spacey, melodic, cinematic, sequencer sounds for the modern world, even futuristic and truly mesmerising. 10 of the acts here are previewing their music for the first time on Sequences besides some of our old favourites, including the prolific ambient master, Steve Roach and Norway’s ethereal guitar ace Erik Wollo,

and with that, we begin the proceedings with Erik’s new album ‘Blue Radiance’

It’s the Australian way, g’day possums, welcome to

Sequences, lots of new tracks for you to hear, a cracking set

of truly gifted musicians, many again appearing here for the first time, plus some of our regulars, who always come up with some outstanding music as well.

In this new year we had another 300 fans join our group, from places all over the world, even from those troubled places like Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Ukraine, Palestine, Nigeria so on, using the social media as way to hear music from the rest of the world, in some cases under severe restrictions in their countries,

Before we get the show on the road, we have included the last two tracks from the elusive mysterious Canadian musician Henric’s

5 track promo cassette that arrived in the 90’s, surprisingly with a bit of help from modern technology, Dolby C recorded tape and a good ear, has come up sounding pretty fine.

Coincidently, we kick off with one of our favourite Canadian musicians, going under the name of Sequential Dreams,

from his latest album Legacy. Take it away Ron.

Hi to all our listeners from all corners of the globe, we’ve got another bumper pack of fresh and interesting diverse music to fill you lugholes and in this edition we have introduced a couple

of electronic prog rock tracks and yes there are some vocals, do I hear groans?, but in a more spacey, psychedelic way.

On a sad note, we’ve lost another legend in the music world, Daevid Allen, the eccentric Australian-born guitarist, singer and poet who was an original member of the psychedelic rock group Soft Machine and went on to form Gong, an aggressively avant-gard band with Allen’s whimsical, mystical, sometimes impenetrable and often very funny lyrics, whose influence far exceeded its relatively modest success, recently passed away in Australia with cancer, (ones life is something to treasure, memories last forever)

Lets get straight into the music we love to hear, with two tracks from Mac Of Bionight stunning new double album Memories

Good evening, morning or afternoon, were ever you are in the world, delighted to bring you another chapter in our quest to introduced you to more new talent in the world of electronics, besides our regulars.

Mick always enjoys putting these editions together and is amazed there are so many musicians producing some dam fine sounds, from the dark side of ambient music to the full on cinematic scores.

On a sad note, after the passing recently of the Tangs, Edgar Froese, Patrick Kosmos and Zenith magazine co founder Steve Roberts, we hear that David Allen, founder member of Soft Machine and Gong, has been fighting cancer for some time, but has now given up treatment, with possibility of only six months to live, our thoughts are with David and family with this devastating news.

Lets now take you on a journey to enjoy and forget in a moment of time, the death and sadness around us, immerse yourself into a world of colours and dreams that only this music brings.

Hi Everyone, welcome to our second podcast in January which is certainly showing some classic sounds from the world of Electronic music, I think it’s going to be another great year.

There’s the usual mix of genres in this field on this issue, with a broad range of styles, we’ve also included ambient guitar and darkwave , hope you enjoy them.

As tributes pour in for the sudden death of Tangerine Dream’s founder member Edgar Froese, all us were shocked last week by the passing of Steve Roberts who graced the EM scene with his knowledge, wit and enthusiasm for many years. Steve was co-founder of the EM magazine Zenith and a regular contributor of reviews for various labels and our previously printed Magazine Sequences. Our lasting memories of Steve are the humorous and witty articles he wrote for our magazine under the name of the Silver Surfer, he will be sadly missed. This is for you Steve, as you now journey among the stars.

Sequences Electronic Music

Coming from a very sunny Australia and with temperatures rising

we have a hot selection of electronic music for you. We feature no

less than nine new acts, bringing their music to Sequences for the first time.

In the mix you can hear chill out, Berlin School, ambient and experimental music

from many talented musicians from Europe, Russia & America.

After a very long absence French musician Zanov who has been active on the

music scene since 1976, starts this edition with, ‘Very Far’ and ‘World Adrift’, from his new album

‘Virtual Future’. Sit back, relax and enjoy some cool sounds.
