This week my guest is Veronika Wojakowska (IG @veronikawojakow). Veronika:
—is a Certified Enlifted Level 1 Coach
—and she guides women to feeling strong and confident through movement and mindset coaching.
Veronika and I first met at the Strong Coach Summit in Imperial Beach, CA back in 2019, and I immediately got Polish soul sister vibes from her. This has only gotten stronger after spending a few weekends together in 2020. First in Mt Hood, Oregon, and the second is when we got to record this show. We recorded this last Fall in McCall, Idaho at the Strong Coach “pop-up” HQ where we were hanging out with other coaches like Ben Walker, a previous guest on the show. This was during a 50-day road trip adventure my wife Halle and I took last year, and this interview is yet another example of the amazing and unreasonable humans we had the pleasure to connect with.
We jump right into what it’s like to live and work on the road, her passion for working with women to help them tap into to their “desire,” why filling your cup leads to a more productive life, and why you should stop doing things you don’t like.
I’m excited to present this Serious. Fun. conversation w/ Veronika Wojakowska.

This week my guest is Eric Wan. Eric is:
—an HR specialist that uses the LEGO Play method to facilitate personnel development. He was an MBA colleague of mine in South Korea, and to just say that we were “close” would be an understatement. Sometimes you meet people and things just…click. So goes the relationship with my next guest. I am from Memphis, TN in the US, born and raised. Eric, who was born in Hong Kong, was educated in the UK and worked in mainland China, in Korean culture would be considered my “hyeong,” or “older brother.” No matter the culture or language, it seems like there’s never a perfect way to capture those special relationships that exceed beyond friendship and fall just short of an actual sibling, a “brother from another mother.” But in just a few short years we, alongside many other special people in our cohort, created deep bonds and our special relationship has now spanned more than a decade.
This talk went differently than any of the conversations I’ve had so far on this show, and I LOVED IT! Back in our MBA days the only thing to do was drum up interesting ideas and do research projects on them, and then go out and drink soju if I’m honest with you, so conversations like these happened so often and freely I would forget how exceptional they were. I’m so happy we were able to hit this vein in our first go at a podcast together. Eric goes deep into the history of economic trade and political relationship between the British Empire and old China, he shares how the British Empire came to rule over Hong Kong, and he breaks down how the current political climate has changed since returning to Chinese governance in 1997.
I learned a lot of context to the ongoing resistance of Hong Kong residents against the Chinese government, and why the government has chosen to end from the “One Country, Two Parties” experiment nearly 3 decades sooner than agreed. This a political situation that will be at the core of many human rights discussions for decades to come.
I’m excited to present to this Serious. Fun. conversation w/ my “hyeong-nim” Eric Wan

—and Ben looks back on his history as a musical theater professional for lessons that improve his coaching.
