For reasons explained in the show, Adventures in Voiceover is now becoming Seriously VO and is also becoming a blog instead of a Podcast. This is the FINAL Podcast but the same content will live on as a blog. Available at http://davidjacobsvoiceover.com/blog
The beginning Voiceover journey can be tough. One of the things that is helping me is to celebrate every victory, no matter how small. Each one is a critical component in building the craft which will eventually lead to your success.
A new, more positive perspective on the Valley of Despair. What Karate Kid has to do with Voiceover and I talk about acting and the Meisner technique.
And now we enter into the Valley of Despair. This is the moment where you either break or breakthrough.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I have a new plan/commitment for the new year.
What is the future of this Podcast and of all my Podcasts? I don't have time for all of them, so decisions have to be made.
I always knew intellectually this was going to be hard, but this week the VO world shows me just how hard. My grit, tenacity and faith are being tested and I come to you, dear listener, in accountability. If you are a VO artist of someone else who thinks they may have something to add and you want to be part of an accountability group, email me at [email protected]. I think this will be a weekly Zoom call, hopefully less than 30min. Or if you just want to email encouragement, you can do that too!
We now enter the toughest part of the journey so far. Trying to get that first booking. Persistence and tenacity is my strategy. If you want to help put me over the top and forever be ingrained in my story, contact me for an audition or a job.
What? I am entering the pay to play Voiceover market? Yes, but on my terms. And I change up my DAW and CRM.
Now that I have my commercial demo, the rubber hits the road as I start my direct marketing attack. I also lock down the next phase of my coaching.
