Our world is home to several thousand distinctive “people groups!” Language, cultural values, and lifestyle are some of the practical realities that distinguish them from each other. What are the distinguishing features of God’s people...the “chosen people, royal priesthood, holy nation?” What should be their influence in our world as summer 2012 draws to a close? Are you “Embracing your True Significance” as part of this privileged, distinguished, God blessed group of human beings?

Daily we face life “defining moment” decisions. Sometimes they don’t seem too monumental at the time. Personalize it: ”Whatever I 'embrace' as my 'significance' in that decisive moment will shape my reputation and build my legacy!” Are there some memorable, guiding principles that can help me choose wisely?

Olympians head home finding their significance defined by their success or failure in a few moments of athletic performance. Journalists head home finding their significance defined by their pictures and reports. Coaches leave the Olympics finding their significance in the performance of the athletes they've trained. And what about us? With 23 days remaining in summer 2012, what are you embracing as your significance in life?

Olympians are passionately pursuing medals as they refuse to be restrained by anything that would limit them from success. For the rest of their lives, their accomplishments this week will define them, win or lose. What “hinders” you from living your God-given life to the fullest? Prejudice, pride, fear, the expectations of others, the painful experiences of your past...what would it take for you to break free to “no limits living” in the power of the risen Jesus Christ?
