Today we review our verse of the year. We recall what it means to let our stories declare that we have a new song. It is a song of praise to God who is majestic and sovereign.

Christians are victorious in the battle against Satan. Are we living victoriously in the fight? “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son… ” Colossians 1:13

All Christians are to be witnesses for the Lord, but some are called by God and sent out by the church for specific assignments, i.e., Paul in Acts 13. When they cross cultures we call them missionaries, a specific set of witnesses. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old has gone, the new has come! All of this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation… And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”2 Corinthians 5:17-19

Romans 9, 10, and 11 focus on Israel and the Jewish people. They explain the place of Israel in God’s plan and the relationship of the church to Israel. May God use this weekend to teach us more about God’s heart for the Jewish people.
