Our true theology (what we think about God) is defined by the way we live our lives, not necessarily by what we say we believe. David lived his worship. His obedience, surrender, and faithfulness were the outward evidence of what resided within his nature and shaped his character. Likewise, those who have experienced regeneration, in whom the Holy Spirit resides, exhibit the same qualities.

Solomon was given the gift of wisdom by God. But other gods attracted Solomon and took his heart from God. Wisdom was not enough. Solomon kept returning to the place of pain for love.

Our daily choices often find us trying to live two or more lives simultaneously: the person we'd like to be, the person others would like us to be, the person God would like us to be, the person the dark kingdom would like us to be, etc. What does my life journey evidence about this struggle? What are the risks of "living a dangerous duality"? Where is hope for God-honoring consistency found?

Significant life-changing choices sometimes mark a particular place (destination) in the life story of a person or family for generations. Walworth County has been such a place for generations of summers. What choices, made this Father's Day weekend, might change the story of a person or family and impact generations to come? Joshua had several such places including: Egypt, Kadesh Barnea,Gilgal, and Shechem. Where are our life change destinations?

We live in a world that is constantly changing. But this world is not our home. We are merely passing through and as we sojourn through it we must often CHOOSE where, and to whom, our hearts will be CONNECTED. To follow God with all of our hearts requires being a learner, a servant, and a story teller.

We have each been born into a family story (heritage). The choices, changes and "connectivity" of our life journey are reshaping our family story. How has God attempted to write Himself into your family story? What "defining moments" stand out as major legacy shapers in each of our stories?

Memorial Day weekend. Here at Calvary, we launch our "100 Days of Summer 2014." Our themed journey, "Choices, Changes, and Connectivity," will lead us through 100 days of discovering and adjusting our lives to God's truth. Summer 2014 has the potential to be life-changing for all of us!

Jesus prepared His friends for His departure, their empowerment, and the launch of His Jesus movement worldwide. 2000 years later, His movement is changing lives around the world. About 100,000 people DAILY are being rescued, as they trust Risen Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord! Transformed, we advance His Kingdom on earth, pushing back the darkness... everywhere!

Memories are wonderful... but too often our look back is clouded by remembrances of failure or wounding. The resurrection of Jesus Christ provides a victorious, living Savior, Who is ready to powerfully rescue us from our haunting past, the brokenness in which we live today, and fear of the uncertain future.

The gospel is the good news about Jesus. It is the news that He came, lived, died, and rose again, that He reigns in heaven. He came for the forgiveness of sins for all who believe. We are the witnesses of this truth for today.
