God longs for all people to be able to worship Him. For that reason, Jesus has given us the great commission--to go into all the world (Matthew 28:18-20). Yet many followers of Christ do not share the good news of the Gospel with others. From the passage in Isaiah today, we will see that a true encounter with God causes us not only to personalize His commission, but to do so excitedly.

We all pretend...too often. Authenticity is an endangered character trait. At the deepest core of your being, who are you really? Drawing near to God melts away the cover-up and exposes what’s hidden. It’s purifying! The alternative is contagious character cancer.

In a world where daily we’re amazed by the secrets that reveal the true heart of heroes or famous people, can we trust God’s heart to be pure, honorable, holy, and trustworthy? As we draw closer to God, we naturally gain a clearer perspective of the true condition of our own heart...what will we see in our hearts?

In seasons of change, every generation reflects on their legacy. There is a significant difference between heritage and legacy. The former deals with the past only and the latter with the past, present and future. We cannot draw near to God and at the same time fail to make an impact on our world. We must listen to God’s heartbeat, live authentically, and speak up in His strength!

In good times, we enjoy life and too easily drift into complacency, dulling our ears to God's appeal, "Draw Near to Me." Good things capture our attention and, unaware, we become vulnerable.
