The great desire of parents and grandparents is to see their children and grand-children happy and healthy. We like to see our friends happy and prosperous.--Martha Washington, the wife of America's first president, George Washington, said -I have determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined by not by our circumstances but our disposition. --The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4-11, -I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.---The Apostle John wrote in 1 John 1-4, -These things we write to you that your joy may be full.- The theme of this morning's sermon is -Joy that Passes Understanding.---In 1 Peter 3-17-18, we will see that Joy comes from Growing in Grace. In Philippians 3-8-10 we will see that comes from Joy comes from knowing Christ. In 1 Peter 1-3-9 we will see that Joy comes from Genuine Faith.
