We all have big-deal days and milestone moments in our life. Jesus' baptism is one of those days in his life. By God's grace, his baptism is also a huge day in our life too. Matthew 3:13-17

God encourages us to grow in faith but how and why? We open up the Scriptures and ponder primarily the why but also the how when it comes to our personal devotion and prayer life.

We often live with a lot of fear in our lives, fear that keeps us from worshiping with freedom and joy. As we look at Matthew 2:1-12, we learn about free, joyful, and unrestrained worship. Let's worship like no one is watching!

Nothing was going to keep the Wise Men from worshiping Jesus. What is holding you back? This week we learn from Matthew 2:1-12 and are set free to worship like no one is watching and sing like no one is listening. I want you to be that guy singing when no one is listening. I want you to be that gal that dances as if no one is watching. Live like that in worship of Jesus!

This Sunday, we're going to start a brand new series doing just that. We are going to meet Jesus in his Word. And we'll never be the same! The shepherds saw him and returned glorifying and praising God for what they had seen. Mary treasured up these things and pondered them in her heart. Simeon was ready to depart in peace. Anna sang songs and told everyone about him. The disciples left their nets to follow him. When people met Jesus and encountered him, their lives changed. So will ours.

When the angels came, the shepherds trembled in fear. When the glory of the Lord shone, they were sore afraid. And yet, instead of consuming them and us with his glory, God poured out grace in place already given. He clothed himself in frailty to cover us with his blood. John 1:14-18

Instead of coming to consume us with glory and with it punishment, he came to clothe us with his blood to save us from punishment. John 1:14-18

One of the great joys of Christmas is the surprises that we get and the surprises that we give. Perhaps, this is why it is greater to give than to recieve. We get to surprise people with great gifts. It's so fun. This Sunday, John surprises us with gifts from God. God has fun surprising us with his grace and truth. Join us as we unwrap the surprise God has prepared for us in John 1:10-13.
