Power in the Holy Spirit

Full conviction

The character of the messenger

You imitate godly examples.

You become an example to believers and a witness to the world.

A Union with the Godhead (v 1)

Evidence of a Transformed Life (vv 2-3)

Pray in all circumstances

Pray in the Spirit

Pray all sorts of prayers

Pray with persistent vigilance

Pray for your fellow soldiers

What the Sword of the Spirit is. The word used for sword here in Ephesians 6:17 is the same as the short sword that Romans carried. It is precise and spiritual.

The characteristics of the Sword of the Spirit

Written by God

Its power is spiritual

It is trustworthy

It is powerful

The Sword of the Spirit is a defensive weapon as Jesus used it in Matthew 4:1-10

The Sword of the Spirit is also an offensive weapon through evangelism and equipping the saints to be Godly.

The reason we need it is to combat against the discouragement and doubt the enemy attacks us with.

Salvation entails your past salvation, your present salvation, and your future salvation.

You must place your faith in Christ.

You must put faith in action.

You must continually strengthen your faith.

The right requirement of shoes for the battle. The requirement is preparation of the Gospel.

The right type of shoes for the battle. The type of shoe is readiness.

The right material for your shoes. That is the gospel of peace. It brings peace with God, ourselves, and others.

What is it? It is a durable covering that covers vital organs.

Why do you need it? Three reasons:

We have no righteousness of our own.

Because we are prone to manufacture our own breastplates.

The enemy is an accuser.

How do you put it on? You must put it on for yourself.
