  • Sovereign Sorrow | Sunday Sermons 05/07/2023

    2 Kings 8 | Pr. Erik Veker

    King of Kings Series

God is sovereign over our suffering and sorrow. Even when things with Israel seemed grim and dark, God was working in the midst of every circumstance. Even when there are things in life that seem dark, Christians have the hope that God is still working in their lives through all the hardships. Especially when times look grim, God’s sovereignty is a great comfort for Christians. Whether is it restoration, assassination, illumination, or appropriation, God is sovereignly orchestrating all things for the good of believers and for His glory.

  • Hitting Rock Bottom | Sunday Sermons 04/30/2023

    2 Kings 6:24-7:20 | Pr. Tiago Oliveira

    King of Kings Series

Sin turns us into beasts! Israel’s sin had consequences and it ruined their reputation. Israel was supposed to be an example of God to the nations. Instead, Israel showed that tough circumstances bring out those things that are truly inside of us. Thanks be to God, He is patient and gracious with us. He worked in unexpected ways with Israel and He continues to act in unexpected ways with us today.

  • A Comedy of Terrors | Sunday Sermons 04/23/2023

    Pr. Will Pareja | 2 Kings 6:1-23

    King of Kings Series

God sends His powerful prophet to rescue people from real terrors. When a man was overcome with the terror of bondage, God sent His prophet Elisha to bring freedom to the man who was in debt. When the Arameans were overcome by the terror of blindness, God sent His prophet Elisha to restore the Aramean's sight. Likewise, through Christ, the ultimate prophet, God has given both freedom from bondage and sight to the blind and has freed humanity from their real terrors of death to sin.

  • Miraculous Reversals pt.2 | Sunday Sermon 04/16/2023

    2 Kings 5

King of Kings Series | Pr. Will Pareja

There is grace for those who humble themselves but there is no grace for the haughty. When Namaan, a leper, first inquired of Elisha, he was haughty and unwilling to do what Elisha commanded to be free from his leprosy. Namaan later humbled himself and did as Elisha commanded. When he did, God was gracious to cure his leprosy and show His power. When a servant of Elisha tried to gain from the work of the Lord, he was cursed with leprosy. God will not let people abuse the grace He shows through His prophets.

  • Grace in Sorrow - Good Friday Service | 04/07/2023

    Adam Wheaton | Luke 22:39-46

Only God can strengthen believers to survive temptation. This is shown by Jesus's interaction with the disciples in the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray as a means to stay out of temptation. Therefore, it is vital for believers to pray because they need God’s strength to survive temptation. This is also seen in the way believers are united to Christ through prayer. Believers suffering and temptation bring them nearer to Christ.

  • Pools In The Wilderness | Sunday Sermons 04/02/2023

    2 Kings 3 | Pr. Erik Veker

God’s grace can turn certain defeat into a surprising victory. Judah and Israel unite to take on the Moabites. When Moab thinks Israel is weak, they rush to attack but Israel rises up and makes great defeat over the Moabites. Although Israel is in exile and everything looks grim, they have great victory through God’s grace. This is seen all throughout Israel’s history and is ultimately climaxed in what seemed like Christ’s certain defeat to death, but through grace became a surprising victory.

  • What More Proof Do You Need? | Sunday Sermons 03/26/2023

    Pr. Will Pareja | 2 Kings 2

    King of Kings Sermon Series

God speaks in our desperation through His prophets. This is first seen in the undeniable confirmation that God is above every other god and He is with His prophets. This is also seen in God’s gracious undoing of scourges, bringing restoration to what is broken in the world. Lastly, this is seen in the unbearable curses of God for those who dishonor His prophets, ultimately bringing judgement upon themselves. All these culminate in Christ as the final prophet, one who certainly speaks through the desperation of the world.
