With the encouragement of Haggai and Zechariah the prophets, the temple construction is completed. The dedication was a joyous occasion. God demonstrated His faithfulness, moving in the hearts of leaders and regular people as they got the job done.
Ezra series message 4
Text: Ezra 5
Work on the temple stalled for years as the Israelites faced fierce opposition to their work. God's prophets ministered to the leaders, speaking encouragement to them as they reengaged the work despite ongoing opposition. This passage serves as a reminder to us to trust in the Lord, do good, and not grow faint.
Ezra Series message 3
Text: Ezra 4
Deceit, discourage, fear, bribe, frustrate, accusation. All six words show up just in the introductory section of our passage. What do we do when we face opposition to our obedience? How do we respond when the ‘flaming arrows’ come our way? God's Word gives practical and helpful answers to these important questions.

Ezra series message 1

Our sovereign God stirs His people to return to the land after the Babylonian exile. We'll set the stage for this arresting account in Ezra, highlighting God's faithfulness to His covenant promises and heart for His people.
Text: Hebrews 9:13-14
God's glory is showcased in the ministry of the gospel. We see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit effecting our salvation in ways that evoke the highest praise. Musing upon these noble truths sharpens our minds and strengthens our faith.
Text: Philippians 2:1-11
The Philippian church received a compelling blueprint for relationships that is rooted in rich Christology. It's a practical "how to" application of Scripture's teaching on the body of Christ, key concept being humility. We'll draw from other parts of the chapter and make application to key relationships in our lives.
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Scripture teaches the sacred bond between believers within the church, which is Christ's body. Unity in diversity, and everyone has a place and a role.
Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Continuing our theme of renewal and focus this month, let us not forget the primary mission of the church: to herald the good news of Jesus Christ while making disciples. As we dedicate three little ones on Sunday, we are reminded of the solemn duty and blessing to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. In Christ we are a new creation and are reconciled to God. Are we zealous to share the gospel with those around us?
Text: 2 Peter 1:3-15
This month, we'll focus on passages that ‘spur us on’ to be intentional about our walk with the Lord, coming off the Lord's words to Laodicea. Many of us will soon be returning to our regular schedules, and some of us are starting new chapters in college or work. This is a familiar and key passage to launch this emphasis. Peter tells us to make every effort to grow and mature in Christ, and not stand still. We can all probably stand to be challenged toward intentionality in our part of the sanctification process.
