Text: Romans 1:16-17

The story of the Bible is the story of Jesus and redemption. From the moment sin entered the world, God put into motion a plan to reconcile sinners to Himself. Jesus was prophesied in Scripture, appearing in Bethlehem to destroy the works of the devil. Truly, worthy is the Lamb who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

Text: Philippians 2:1-11

We use the term advent in conjunction with someone noteworthy or important. Never in the history of the world was there the advent of someone more important or noteworthy than the Son of God. And yet...

Given the deity of Christ we examined in our previous message, His arrival was so humble and unassuming - not to mention His humility in ultimately giving of Himself on a cruel Roman cross. As believers, this same humility is commended to us to imitate. A practical application of our meditation on Sunday will be developing that same humility in our hearts as we engage others in our home, our church, our workplace, and community.

Text: Hebrews 1:6

The Lamb is worshiped because of who He is and what He's done. Jesus is better than the angels and greater than the Patriarchs because He is no mere man, He is God. We'll trace this foundational truth throughout Scripture, noting that He commanded worship on that holy night when He appeared in Bethlehem.

Text: Colossians 3:1-4

As we land the plane on our mini-series on revival and personal renewal, we focus on a passage that sums it all up nicely. Christ is not the most important element of our life, He is our life. In light of His mercies, His grace, His unconditional love, our redemption, the precious blood and our inheritance, let us live unswervingly for Christ, remaining in Him, the true vine. 

Text: Haggai 1:1-9

The Israelites were back in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. They lived in luxurious houses while God's House remained in ruins. Their misplaced priorities were at the root of the challenges they faced in life. The word of the Lord to them has application for us today. In light of the sobering message of God's judgment and also the eternal perspective, do we have misplaced priorities? The time is now to make necessary course corrections, and action > “thinking about it.”

With the promise of His presence and assurance of His strength, the Psalmist calls us to trust in the Lord, give Him glory and take refuge in Him.

Text: II Thessalonians 1:5-10

We've recently considered the holiness of God in Revelation, we now take a closer look at the subject of God's judgment. When we behold God's holiness in judgment, it naturally works within us a sober mindset. May we be deeply impacted by God's righteous execution of judgment and order our thoughts and our lives accordingly. 

Text: Hebrews 11:39-12:2

We face many challenges as we walk with the Lord, sometimes we feel like throwing in the towel. The good word given us is to not grow weary but to keep moving - keep walking, keep serving, keep loving, keep worshiping. There is great joy set before us!

Text: Revelation 5

In the sequel to last week's passage, thousands upon thousands thunder the Declaration of Sonship - we who were dead in our sins and enemies of God, have been brought near, reconciled and redeemed.

Text: Revelation 4:1-11

A consistent theme in personal revival and renewal is a compelling vision of God's holiness; His glory. On Sunday we'll examine our redemption in light of God's holiness, which humbles, comforts and inspires us. It's a good word for each of us, especially for those raising kids.
