What the West is up against in dealing with Islam

While everything is under God's absolute sovereignty, not everything is under the rule of our mediator king.

Jesus Christ is Almighty God, distinct from the Father and yet equally God with him. In coming into the world the eternal Son of the eternal God added to his divine nature a true human nature, so that he is both fully God and fully human in one person, a person distinct from the Father.--Jesus was fully human and tempted in all the ways that we are, yet he never sinned.

This Sunday was both Stewardship Sunday and the beginning of the celebration of the Christmas season at the congregation I currently serve in Mississippi. This sermon was an attempt to tie both themes together.

The key to dealing with paralyzing fear is to fear God alone.----To fear God does not to mean to live without assurance of God's forgiveness or to be afraid of going to hell- it is to love God and fear displeasing him.

The world that we experience is not identical with the world God created- death has entered it as an alien and an enemy. That's why life is full of frustration and always will be until Jesus comes again.

God is in ultimate control over Satan and all his hosts of evil.

I am who I am, when I am because of a divine, benevolent plan.
