Our heavenly Father gifts us entrance into his kingdom and it’s a gift that we should share with others. In today’s passage Jesus is going to offer something significantly upside down that will transform our lives.

Today we are looking at the next section of the Sermon on the Mount, and it is a challenge to us as to how we look at others and how we can help each other grow to be more like Jesus.

We all have things we treasure. They may not be objects like money or cars, but they might be relationships or career. How you live puts on display where your treasure truly is. Jesus challenges us to think about what our treasure should be. The wise person treasures things that will last into eternity.

Relationships are hard, but they are a mess worth making. Today, Jesus will teach us about to be salt and light in our world and in our relationships.

Love and sex can be a wonderful part of God’s creation. It can also cause some of the greatest damage to people. Today, Jesus will show us how to live for Jesus in this area of our lives.

On this Mother’s Day, I want to ask ladies: “what do you need most?” You might have many suggestions, but Jesus has the best answer because he knows you best. We will explore that today.

How does the Christian relate to the world?  Does it even matter?  To Jesus it most certainly did.  When he uses the metaphors of salt and light, he affirms that we are ordinary, but also that we are to be very useful in the world.

How we live in relationship to others says a lot about whether we value the same things Jesus values.  In the Kingdom of God, we are blessed when we are blessing others.

What is the good life? Your answer to that question says a lot about what your desire most. As Jesus starts the Sermon on the Mount, he challenges worldly desires and calls us to desire something greater.
