- How do I know that I am walking in the right direction spiritually? Have you ever asked yourself that question? What is true repentance? Pastor Doug clarifies that repentance is knowing that something needs to change - and being willing to make the changes God brings to our attention. This begins with our first confession of faith and baptism and is then continued on a daily basis. But, most excitingly, repentance is freeing. Pastor Doug also offers us the comfort (also found in 1st John) that we can know that as we are making the change of mind, this brings the change in our old man nature and ultimately changes our heart.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin (1st John, 1:7).

- We have often heard of the command from God that we are to lay up treasures in heaven, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. But what does that really mean? He is impressing upon us that our treasure speaks to the very core of our existence. As we know, God’s greatest desire is to be at the very core of our existence; accordingly, our treasure should be where He is…. in Heaven. The question then becomes, where is your heart? In this message, Pastor Doug encourages us to examine our hearts and whether or not we are in alignment with God’s plan for our lives.

- In this week’s message, Pastor Doug allows us a brief look into his personal journey with God in the area of stewardship, from the reluctant giving as a preacher’s kid, to the first big step of faith to give at a level that “made no earthly sense,” and then on to the amazing realization that you simply cannot outgive God. Though we know everything we have is already God’s, what we may not realize is that our giving is not about what God gets from us, but rather what He wants for us, which is to have a heart that is devoted to Him and a life blessed by Him, walking in His full provision.

- Transformation

We have all felt the desire to be transformed to avoid a situation that we knew was beyond our control. The good news is that with God, all things - even miraculous transformation - are possible. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Doug showed us how one jailor’s life was transformed when two Christians were faithful in their Priestly duty to offer a sacrifice of praise even in a very tight spot. The result changed not only one man’s future, but the future of the nature of church meetings - laying the foundation for what is now our life group gatherings.

- Three Things You Must Do

How many times have you listened to a sermon or sermon series, absolutely loved and/or understood the message, but then were left with not quite understanding what steps you needed to take to apply this revelation to your daily life? - Opening the Gates of Heaven

We often think of Heaven’s gates as being something we will face when we die, hoping to say or do the right thing to get inside and enjoy the blessings of Heaven for all of eternity. In truth, we have the ability to open up the gates of Heaven right now, and we can begin to experience the spiritual joys of Heaven right here on earth. The key to Heaven’s gates is having a heart full of thanksgiving for who God is and what He has done, regardless of our current circumstances. The vocal expression of praise and worship - what we were created by God to do - comes from a heart of thanksgiving.

- A High Calling and a Dual Role

In our call to royalty, we have two different offices that we are called to fill: that of Kings and Priests. In this message, Pastor Doug challenges us to live up to our calling as Kings, to rule effectively in this life over what we have been given responsibility for, so we become qualified to rule in the age to come and in eternity as well. - Destined to Rule

Even before he created the universe, God set up a perfect plan for the creation of His family, beginning with Adam, centered in Christ, and including even this current generation - you and me.
