Two very different people, from two very different parts of society. Jesus has time for both, but not in the order you might think. He always makes time for faith and we need to experience the living Jesus Christ who by his blood heals us, purifies us, and restores our honour and who, by his resurrection, conquers fear and death.

The heart of the Gospel is the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. No more and no less. Journey with us over the coming weeks as we discover that Jesus is not just the man of power who draws our gaze, but also the man of sorrows who takes our place.

How do you get through personal crisis? The prophet Jeremiah models three essential practices for us. 

Where do you run in the day of trouble? When life overwhelms you and you can't see a way out, who do you trust? Our God is on his throne, in control, and his very presence is the place of our sanctuary and rest. Run to him!

We have a problem: we're sick and it's killing us. The sickness is called sin. Fortunately, there's good news. There is one, the Great Physician, who knows the remedy. At great personal cost, he diagnoses and heals us.

How do you survive in the desert? For a plant, it needs to have a deep root system into a water source. In a spiritual sense, the key is to be properly rooted in scripture and filled with the Spirit. This is the way in which we as a church and as individuals can bear fruit in any circumstance.
