This is an important message for the church in our time, when halfhearted commitment is so common. Jesus made it clear in his teaching: “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). Those who play games with Jesus and his word are not truly “disciples,” and we must question whether or not they were true believers.
