Hebrews 12:14 calls us to strive for peace with everyone and to strive for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

There is a holiness that is necessary to see the Lord and we are called to strive for it. What does that look like? How do we remain Christ-centered and gospel-driven as we strive for this holiness? We consider these and other important questions surrounding this important verse.

We live in a world where people can lose jobs, income, family and friends, simply because they are Christians following the Lord Jesus Christ. However, this isn't new. The Christians the letter of Hebrews was written were also losing homes, lands, jobs, family, and were being shunned by their community. It is in the midst of this that we must endure and look to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and remember the Father's discipline which is training us for holiness.

Thomas went from skeptic to martyr for the faith. His eye-witness evidence, along with the rest of the apostles gives us confidence in the reality of the resurrection.

Faith is not believing something contrary to the evidence. In fact, to disbelieve in the resurrection is to believe contrary to all the evidence. Christ's death and resurrection was a publicly witnessed historical event. This gives us great confidence to live our lives, entrusting them to Christ in all things.

The Christian life is likened to a race. Are you prepared for this race? Are weights and sin holding you back? Do you know the key to living the Christian life? Do you know what it means to look to Jesus? These questions and more are answered in this text.

What we see is how we are to be prepared and how we are to run. We're encouraged since Jesus is the one who initiates and completes our faith and he is the one who has run before us. May this text challenge and encourage you to live for Christ.

Here is a call to expect great things from God and attempt great things for God. With world-changers like Moses, Gideon, David and Samuel who have gone before us, we are called to imitate their faith. They trusted God and changed the world. We too are called to trust God and attempt great things for him.

Are you going to live a wasted life? Or are you going to live it for God, trusting him and attempting great things for him?

As we continue to examine the substance and nature of faith we consider a host of examples from the old testament. Today we look at Abel, Enoch, and Noah. This is what it looks like to trust God. To not only believe in him, but to believe him.

Faith is not believing in God. Faith is believing God. Faith is trusting him.

Knowing this we can see why faith bring certainty to our hope. We can see that it brings confidence in what we do not see. By faith, by trusting God, we are able to have certainty and confidence because he is trustworthy.

Are you struggling with faith? Are you searching for faith? Look to God and trust him.

This sermon considers the two ways or two paths that is spoken so often in Scripture. One, a path trodden by those unable to so no to the pressures or pleasures of the world, leads to judgment. The other, a road of hardship and trial, leads to glory.

This strong warning is given to the church, those professing faith in Christ. Are you on this road or on the road of suffering leading to glory?

Here are three commands God is calling you to do today. Do you know what it means to draw near to God? To hold fast to Christ? To stir up one another to love and good works?

In this text, we examine these three important commands. Understanding what they demand of us, and most importantly, understanding the great provision and grace we have in Jesus Christ to achieve what he demands.

Most think that is has been appointed for man to die once, then comes peace, comfort and rest. The Bible says that it has been appointed for man to die once, then comes judgment.

Just as certainly as we all die, so it is certain that Christ has died to bear sin and to return again as conquering king.

Are you ready for death? Are you ready for judgment? Are you ready for Christ's return?
