Jesus came to make peace between us and God. We needed Him to do this because of our sin. This sermon talks about the peace that Jesus brings, and a warning to those who stand in His way.

Many times we try to seek greatness in the things of this world, but true greatness comes when we sacrifice ourselves for others.

The world says something about Jesus. The church says something about Jesus. But who do you say that Jesus is? Jesus shares with us in Mark 8 who He really is and what He really calls us to be.

This sermon looks at two individuals and show how we are to approach God. We also see how God approaches us. This is something we need to understand to fully enjoy the relationship we have with God.

We often don't like to wait for God to work in our lives. In Mark 5, we read about a father with a dying daughter and a woman with an incurable condition. Both asked for Jesus' help and got much more than they were asking for.

We, like the Pharisees, tend to focus on what we can't do on the sabbath, when we should be focussing on what we need to do. God gave us the sabbath to bless us, not enslave us.

We try so often to deal with our problems by treating the symptoms, but Jesus goes deeper to cure us. In Mark chapter 2 we see that Jesus is the only one who can cure us.

Jesus is the ruler of all. During His short ministry, He showed everyone He met that He had all authority. He has authority over evil and disease, and He is the leading authority on God's Word. May we be willing to trust and follow Him.

Many times we work to earn or keep our salvation. We feel like we are a slave, when Christ came to give us life and freedom. The Gospel is the good news that God has already made the way and done all the work. All we are called to do is follow the path He has laid out for us.

When we look at the temptations of Adam and Jesus, we clearly see that Jesus succeeded where Adam failed. So what is the secret to resisting temptation? Jesus shows us in His trials in the wilderness.
