In John 11 we find an enlightening conversation between Jesus and His friend Martha. Martha is grieving the death of her brother and is questioning why Jesus did not come to heal him. Jesus reminds her of who He is and asks her the most important question in history: Do you believe this? Her response is one of the greatest confessions in all of the Bible and an example of how we can cling to Jesus even in the midst of suffering.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”
What do you believe about Jesus?
